I bought a 2-pak of 'Self Expressions' by Maidenform on sale at Target. $12.58 for both. 38D or sometimes DD here; that underwire just has to happen. They are comfortable, lined enough for nip coverage without being padded, come in cute colors and patterns, and are inexpensive.

PS: They're designed as t-shirt bras, so no seams. Nice and smooth.

This thread reminds me of a conversation I witnessed one night at dinner.

We were out with a couple of other couples we knew well and we were having
a relaxed evening. One of the women happened to mention that she had gone
shopping that day and had found that the bra she had been intending to buy was
no longer made.

What surprised me was the immediate vehemence of the rest of the women who
joined in with comments similar to the ones in this thread.

Quick example:
How often have we seen DesFIP use language like this to describe someone?

I used to wear the Maximum Support by Lilyette. Bastards discontinued it. (emphasis added)

I remember leaning back from the table and doing an eye check with the other men who
had also backed off. It was obvious that the women were serious about their anger and
frustration and there was nothing we had to contribute to the conversation. But we could
say the wrong thing very easily if we got into it. We waited it out till they were done.

The emotions were intense enough that I remember it very clearly.

Discontinue our favorite bras, lipsticks, and shoes, you (proverbial you) will incur wrath of thousands if not millions of women.

It's really hard to find just the right size, color, fit, etc, which is why I always buy at least 3 of everything I really like. This time next year, it may not be available.

TieMeInKnottss -> RE: Ok Ladies....i. Need help with "the girls" (10/31/2013 12:04:47 AM)

Oh yeah!!!! Especially for those of us who are "well-endowed"! It takes so long and so much experimenting to find a bra that fits then some idiot in marketing or branding or someone nonsense decides that they need to "improve" and we have to start over again.

I will just say, nips are always in style.  That is my final communication on the subject.

My post reports that I have observed this frustration in person. It does not
say anything about it not being real or justified. If anything I would expect it
to be construed as support for her feelings. (Pun not intended, but I'll take it)

I also remember mentioning it to my partner later that night after we were alone
and she explained to me about different women's breast shapes and placement
etc.

Then she said (paraphrase) "So you spend a lot of time trying to find one.
Then is it still comfortable at the end of the day? Then you have to wash it 2-3 times
to find if it will hold up. Then is it available in enough different colors so it goes with
all your outfits? Then you go back for more because it did wash well and it is no longer available."

So you see I have had some prior education.

Because of this prior education I did notice something that might help when I
ran across it some time ago.

Jockey is marketing a new bra using a new measuring system. I hope it helps.

One last thing. It would have to be something a lot more important than beer
to get me to react the way those women did that night. But you must remember,
I am an Outlier.

sure, you may not be a "beer guy" but whatever your passion/major interest is, if someone messes with some part that you depend on, it would majorly tick most people off..

And I have heard about Jockeys new system.. I don't see that as a good thing, to me its just another jungle to wade thru.. it might help some women but I am skeptical.. its likely just another marketing gimmick to get some free publicity..

There is a bra I like but imo its for exercising (its a compression bra & not cheap either), its designed for endowed women that don't want to end up with 2 black eyes from jogging.. I would not want to wear it 16 hours a day, although I suppose you could.. other than that, I have not found a bra that was worth getting upset by losing.. I hate all of them!!!

DesFIP -> RE: Ok Ladies....i. Need help with "the girls" (10/31/2013 1:19:12 PM)

The jockey pricing is unacceptable.

When the bras I had been wearing died, and I could no longer sew them to keep the underwire inside, I went to the mall. Every store there later, nothing. Then The Man decided I had to go to the mall across the river which had an Avenue which like most stores carries nothing larger than a 36 C.Their idea of well endowed.

Nothing, nyet, nada but at least the clerk there suggested I order stuff online and return them for free. I could confidently predict doing this for months. The next time he dragged me out, it was to the big outlet center and we got lucky. Two clerks, no other customers. And after pulling every possible model from the racks and the back one model fit.

You're looking at two weeks of having to go shopping, which I personally loathe, and never being successful. And then six months later, I have to do it all over again.

I actually think bastards was an incredibly tame term, considering.

My girlfriend doesn't know that I know it, but she names hers.

sunshinemiss -> RE: Ok Ladies....i. Need help with "the girls" (10/31/2013 3:47:47 PM)

The difference between a bra and "something one is passionate about" is the pain factor. Aching shoulders, slumping, unable to run or walk fast due to the jiggle and ouchy, etc. This is probably why I am now wearing a sports bra most days.

When I went to England last year and got fitted, I had to ask about what to do as I was losing weight... could they help me figure out what size to get for the continued weight loss. They were great at Debenham's. I had gone to another place, and their response was, "Just come back after you've lost the weight." I explained that I was in Asia and that was not possible. At Deb's they talked to me about my weight loss pattern, my exercise routine, my history. They were great! I got several 36s and a couple of 34s. (Thank goodness because it's a year later, and the 34s are my new go to for the girls!)... I got both regular and sports bras. Hoo fricking ray!

As an aside, I'm so glad I got fitted. Now when I get dressed, I see my fabulous hourglass... I have embraced the term "50s pinup girl" because of it. Those bras have done amazing things for my self-esteem, my ability to jog / ride my bike, my posture, and my back! Next, stockings with seams up the back! Oh yes!

Duck tape?

its been done.. [;)]

two versions I found..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6k6iIIKRNvE strapless & backless version (duct tape only)

http://www.ehow.com/how_5805748_make-bra-duck-tape.html (duct tape & an old shirt version)..

I expect there are other variations as well..

DesFIP -> RE: Ok Ladies....i. Need help with "the girls" (11/1/2013 3:32:15 AM)

The tape is really only usable if you don't need a bra in the first place.
