I was going to go with a number as small as 3 or 4, but others' reasoning and the dictionary definition of the word convinced me to go with 5, minimum. I agree that an orgy, as opposed to a "play party" or a "dungeon" or dungeon party, seems like it would be defined by everyone present participating, at least off and on. Also, when I imagine the minimum number of people, it seemed to me at first, that even 3 might have an orgy, if they came together at the orgy, rather than all of them being established partners beforehand. So my idea of an orgy seems to involve mixing it up, too. But could established partners have an orgy? It would still have to be at least several people and they'd have to all be participating, and it would have to be for a period of time that would make it more of an event, as opposed to a brief bout of group sex, before it would rise to the level of an orgy. It's pretty subjective.
