Most people are pretty open and accepting.

Except those who are not. ...

That's why I said "most", not "all". [:)]

So, I am brand new, and still seeking info and such, but I was curious about something. I see trans being a gender option, and I see trans people here and there on this site. My question is; How are trans people generally treated within this community? (being trans myself) I am curious if we are treated JUST as objects, or equally, and respected as such.

I have been on many places online, all types of sites, and I tend to find the overwhelming "popular" feeling about trans people is one of revulsion, dismissal, or as a thing, curiosity, or object.

Online it's pretty fetishized or unpleasant... very polar in my experiences, personally. But it also depends on the site. If you go to Fetlife and use the forums to talk just like normal the majority of folks will treat you like it's no big deal. It depends where you are online and how you approach letting folks know, like anywhere.

But the majority of online vs real-life kink community and events, I've found real-life stuff to be much more welcoming to transgender or specifically transsexual people.

1. This web site really isn't a community. There are some regulars, but you get the full range of people just like any other public web site.
2. Trans-gender people aren't very common; and many people feel uncomfortable in their presence. The acceptance is probably higher in BDSM circles, but, sure, you'll encounter plenty of people who looked down on and feel uncomfortable with trans-gender.
3. Just be yourself. Let the chips fall where they fall. And don't worry about what people think.

Welcome to the forum!

Not much to add to the posts so far, except to say that the board is at its best when people from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and gender identities participate.

Hi OP, sorry I'm late to the thread..as usual. Lol
Anyhoo, welcome from down south (yes we wear shoes and have teeth...well most of us).
I must admit, I'm a bit dumb to the fact of all the different labels and titles. But I'm very open minded and like everyone.
I think you'll enjoy yourself here on the forums, I sure do.
Have fun, join in and see ya on so e threads!
:)

One reason I'm open to trans-girls is that sometimes they put forth more effort. I find it cute.
