I have been criticized for not being a morning person. Not by my family, they have come to expect that if they approach me before my third cup of coffee, bodily damage may follow.

However, the last few days have required me to leave the house at the ungodly hour of 8 AM, before I have sufficient coffee in my system to deal with abnormal humans that seem to be insanely happy in the hours before noon.

So, I am curious if I am alone in being reasonable and sane about mornings and what is required by the human body to deal with the situation.

I don't usually need a full pot of coffee, just one coffee. But it does definitely have to be after noon.
It takes a lot of my energy, but because of my job I have to fake moderate perkiness.
For those truly perky in the morning, I won't resort to physical violence but I've strangled them in my mind about twenty times.
I'm most definitely a night person, it's when I'm happiest. I have always been that way.

The only exception is sometimes, when I've had very little sleep (about 2-4 hours), I become slap-happy which may be mistaken for perky.
