What it says on the tin. Is there any way to either filter journals or remove certain ones from your view entirely?

Are you referring to your own Journal Entries in your CM profile? You click on Edit Journal and either edit your previous entry(-ies) or delete them one by one. You can't hide (if that's what you mean by 'filter') existing entries, whether they're yours or those in other profiles. Why would you want to do that anyway? If you don't want to keep an entry you made, then delete it.

If you're talking about your own journal entries, you can edit or delete them entirely. If you're referring to someone else's journal entries that you'd rather not see, you can elect to hide the profile so you don't ever have to see it.

Other people's journals. When you browse the most recent entries, sometimes there are people whose opinions you'd be happy to never see again.

I tried that. It might have been a caching issue or a mobile site issue, but their journal entries were still listed.

That also doesn't cover filtering out groups of people. If you don't want to view journals from switch men or people over 60, I don't see what point there is having them in the recent entries list.

Eureka, he must mean profiles not journals! That thought never occurred to me. Your usename is befitting, Spy.

Yes, OP, you can hide your own profile under Account Settings. You can block other users so you don't see their profiles again and block unwanted messages from other users. And they can do the same to you.

ETA: *Cross-Posting* Don't read their Journal Entries, dude. You can set up parameters for searches, for what mail from what categories of users goes into your Inbox and what goes to Bulk as spam. Then disregard & delete what you don't want. Use the hover feature (with your mouse without having to open the message) to doublecheck whether you want to Delete Unread a message in advance.

I don't think the OP is talking about profiles. I think he's talking about only wanting to see journals from certain categories of members when using the "Recent Journals" feature from the home page.

If that is correct, OP, I have to say that I don't have any insight for you. Unlike the search capability to only show profiles from certain categories, (age, gender, etc) the "Recent Journal" feature is primarily based on the "recent" part. You get everyone, and as far as I know, that includes folks that you have blocked/hidden. It's a separate gig from the profile search, so it doesn't keep the same settings.

I'm rather new here, but, even so, I have never even noticed the recent journals feature, so, it must not be all that difficult to ignore, in toto.

However, ignoring it in piecemeal, may be problematic, I would assume, based on the responses to date.

I know, he posted while I was composing. Chose not to delete & redo, so added ETA instead. (I still don't see what the deal with the Journal Entries are. Ignore them.)

P.S. ^Ilyrium^ CUTE PUPPY PIC

Yeah. Somehow, I typed up Mine without seeing his post above yours. Probably from screwing around too much on My part yesterday.

I'd guess ignoring (all of) them is counter productive to whatever it is the OP is reading journals for. They are kind of like a mixed bag. A bit better than the cesspool that is the other side and not quite as good as the forums. If nothing else, it can tell you who is active with their account, even if they aren't into the forum posting thing.

OP, I just had a thought for you. There is always the option of subscribing to certain people's journals, rather than using the 'recent journal entries' feature. It's a little more work, but eventually, you'd only be seeing the journals that you want to see. Don't know. I'm trying to be helpful here, but I'm afraid that's the best I've got.
