I said all I needed to say in the subject line.

On behalf of the veterans on both sides of our families who have fought for this country since The Revolutionary War, thank you all for your bravery and the many sacrifices you have made. They were not made in vain.

-- A Fellow Veteran

Edited: In seeing your post, AthenaSurrenders, we acknowledge the courage and sacrifices made by military families, birth families and friends, without whose loving support and prayers it would have been impossible to have carried out our duties effectively and returned home safely.

Thank you, and thank you to all their families for the sacrifices they have to make when one of them is military.

Hell's bells. A programme on the telly about the first day of the Blitz on London. My dad was like so many other small boys: outside and clapping excitedly at the 'air show'. No one really knew how the thriller would turn into a horror within an hour. Poor, poor sods. Thanks to all.

Thank you veterans.

My sister is going to my dad's grave today (he was WWII Pacific Theatre), I'm going to my uncles' graves (Don-WWII (Europe), Rich (WWII Europe/Pacific, Korea, Vietnam), Robert (WWII, Korea). They're on my mom's side. On my dad's side, my uncle Pat is still in the Solomon Sea, James (WWII/Korea), Daniel (Korea/Vietnam). It'd be a long post for my cousins, because every male one except Pat II served (he had MS, so he was exempted). I only served 6 years in the Army Reserves, so I don't really count. Thanks to all of them.

Nonsense, Reserves are critical.

I'll Join In. Thank you to all who served.

A few days ago I was thinking of the great composer
Richard Rogers. In addition to all the music he did for
Broadway he composed the music for a TV show called
Victory At Sea. The show consisted of military film shot
during WWII, (some captured) some narration and his music.
It ran for several weeks in the 50's.

Here is a youtube of Victory At Sea Episode 1 Part 1

I downloaded from this page and put together a CD which I
will be delivering to some friends of mine today to say thank
you for their service. Victory At Sea Theme Music Page

I gave one to a friend last night, he was touched. So say thank you
it means something to those who receive it.

That was a great show! Fantastic music and the way they edited the footage was stirring.

My geography teacher back in high school showed us this video on remembrance day, needless to say I have it in my iTunes library and listen to it on this day every year.

ETA: Many reserve units called up for tours in Iraq and Afghanistan did not hesitate to serve.

I'll accept some of this on behalf of my brothers who saw a lot more incoming fire than I did.

But are there really hot nude pictures in my inbox? No.

Thank you, both to those that served, and those at home that supported them. I'm forever greatful to them for the freedoms that I have now in the country that I call home.

MistressDarkArt -> RE: To all the veterans, thank you for your service. (11/11/2013 7:15:35 PM)
