I like President Obama. But how does this change of events tied directly to him? He has much less power to affect the ups and downs of gas prices when compared to speculators, industry giants and plenty of other factors. When gas prices rise, conservatives have come on to this forums to ridicule and bitch at the President. And often many of us state its not his fault at all. If that is honestly true, then the opposite must also be true: If gas prices sink, its not due to President as well. Wouldn't matter if it was a Republican in the White House with ties to 'Big Oil'.

***COUGH***GHWBUSH***COUGH****

Just as we would not see any actual and honestly sincere 'thank you' from conservatives on this forum had I not made this post, right?

Well, because he would be getting the blame if prices did go up........... he de facto get`s the credit for their fall.

Just look at newty`s comments....

Look at how the cons try to blame everything bad on the president....even shit they do......like the shutdown/extortion attempt.

And the guy cheated on his wife (not to mention lying to the nation) while prosecuting another man for doing the same in the White House at the time. He lost his chance to EVER become a US President. That's what happens when your so deep in 'karmatic debt'. Who really cares what he says?

And they have allowed themselves to be dumb down over the past two decades. Why? I don't know why exactly! They have become a petty, ignorant, hateful, and foolish people. We should not rage and attack them; but pity them! Nor should we ourselves believe we are perfect in even most ways. Liberals, like moderates and conservatives have plenty of faults and problems. But approaching a situation that requires one to behave like an adult, be mature, intelligent and most of all, wise; is a staggering set of requirements for anyone to achieve! For the grand majority of conservatives, this is even more true. I believe we are fortunate that my President represents these items on a daily basis. Only wish my Congress could do the same....

Notice in my threads that when I refer to conservatives its as 'conservatives', and not 'cons'? That is me, showing respect towards conservatives. I could call Mr. Gingrich 'former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich' but most know who I'm talking about when I say 'Newt Gingrich' or 'Mr. Gingrich'. The man has done a number of things I disagree with, BUT, I feel its important to be respectful. You demand conservatives, Republicans and Tea Partiers to be respectful towards liberals, Democrats and the President. Why should they when you call them 'cons' and their people an assortment of insults? You wont not like being on the receiving end of insults, so why do the insulting?

On topic....

I'm 'ok' if a conservative has a decent argument about something the President did or did not do. So long as they realize the guy is not God, nor a dictator. He has quite a number of limitations and not all of them are a result of the US Constitution. But when conservatives bash the President because their guy or gal lost in 2008 and 2012, its not really the argument they care about, its the bashing. Like they are behaving like a little child in the middle of a temper tantrum. And how do adults deal with children during a temper tantrum? We may do a number of things, but usually do not cave into their demands.

Gas prices came down in America. Hurray for America!

Politics is a rhetorical activity.....

Just say`n....

Just as in, now that the conservatives are bashing the President for glitches and problems in trying to do right by millions of Americans with the ACA....they now must take ownership of the old system, with all it`s death and illness since they are defending it....

Newt did cheat, but he didn't commit perjury in front of a federal grand jury. There is a difference there.

My guess is that there was a reduction in gas usage over the summer, leading to a glut of "summer" gas. So, the gas companies are lowering prices to sell it off to make way for "winter" gas. Lowering prices is, generally, a great way to sell more gas.

Thanks joether for that posting though gas prices are down despite Obama. Maybe if he would open up more drilling on federal land or get the Keystone pipeline flowing already, prices could drop even more.

If it's unfair to blame the President for price increases....how is it he gets credit when prices fall ?
Sorry Owner but that doesn't work

How is going from $4+ to $2+ across several years, an increase?

When prices rose, the President was unfairly blamed.

Now that prices are falling, it's just as unfair for him to get the credit for that.

Look at how the cons try to blame everything bad on the president....even shit they do......like the shutdown/extortion attempt.
