Having been diced and sliced recently, I have a lot of sympathy. Procedures and recovery are never fun. I hope you get looked after well, jlf.

Surgery was a success, and pain is manageable right now. I am home, and orders for a few days rest.

They freaking put a catheter in me which pissed me off, but it was the best way to see if I had blood in the urine.

I got yelled "love you Pop Pop" from Damian when I got out of the car, a big hug and a kiss from the little guy. Kera tried to jump up on me, but was blocked. She then came into my room and let me hug and love on her for a while.

I am not sure how much I will be on over the next couple of days, but I want to thank everyone that wished me luck, and I pray that you are all blessed.

Take it easy and get well soon.

Great news.
Get better soon and we'll be waiting for you. In the meantime, let someone else deal with the dogs at 5:00 AM. You deserve the time off.

jlf1961 -> RE: The time has come. (11/16/2013 2:27:32 AM)

It is 419Am and I am up, I have drank about 3 liters of water since surgery, two liters of gatoraid, and just now got my first cup of coffee in 36 hours.

The only -pain I have is on my left side (of course) around the kidney, and it is about a 7 on a scale one to ten.

The biggest problem I have had since surgery is the fact I am constantly thirsty, and muscle cramps.

And of course my voice comes and goes, the result of having a breathing tube stuck down my throat.

On the subject of pain, I think I am going to try some alieve and lay off the narcotics, the doc wrote a scipt for 60, and right now I just feel that it is unwarranted.

TheHeretic -> RE: The time has come. (11/16/2013 11:54:10 AM)

Take your dope, Jlf, at least for the next couple days.

calamitysandra -> RE: The time has come. (11/16/2013 2:27:18 PM)

Don't overdo it during the first days, you would pay for it later. Most likely with interest added.
Listen to your caregivers and take those painkillers at least for some time. Too much pain is contra productive to healing.

DesFIP -> RE: The time has come. (11/16/2013 9:03:49 PM)

Even if you won't take them during the day, do so at night. You need your rest.
