I would like to hear thoughts/experience on race play. I have read Molina's blog and how she incorporates race in her play while serving a white master. When I google Race Play in getting the same 8 or 10 articles,they are insightful but lacking in practical application. We were approached about by someone wanting this . My husband came up with a million ideas in about 3.2seconds(he's got a devious mind),but I'm somewhat apprehensive. Thanks in advance.

If they want it and you want it, WTF? It does what it does for them, now, if you are against it rather than apprehensive, what is the rationale? If you are apprehensive because you are casting about for the scenario, and are not as vivid in imagination as hubby, well, play seconds and let it flow. Take a clinical look at what is going on, what works, and what sort of stuff it is bringing, is it humiliation? is it powerlessness? is it?????????? and see what doesn't work and why.

If it simply goes against your morals, figure that out too, nobody says you have to do nothing, this is consensual, the way we play, right?

what is it about it that's making you apprehensive, or are you simply seeking approval?

Race play to me implies a negative spin on stereotype.
That's not my cup of joe, but just because I don't like that doesn't mean it's my opinion that counts....
The real question is : what will you get from it?

I had a Black Domme before and race play was never an issue. She was probably my favorite of all time.

If your husband came up with a million ideas, why are you here trolling for ideas? Don't you trust/respect your husband? I'm confused.

As far as your apprehension, it would help if you would tell us WHY you're apprehensive. Do you not like your husband's ideas? Do you think that race play is racist? Do you simply not think you'll get enjoyment out of race play?

I happen to be African-American, and I don't do race play. I have dated/served a number of White Dommes, but race play was never a part of our relationship. We were just two people who happened to be of different races, and also happened to be kinky. Moreover, I don't find anything sexy, erotic, or enjoyable about being called the N-word. But that's just me.

Having said that, some people get off on race play. They like being called ethnic slurs. They enjoy the humiliation of being in stereotypical racial situations. If that's the case with your sub/slave, then what's the problem? If you and your husband enjoy it, and your sub/slave enjoys it, then go for it.

I'm with others: I'll happily give some form of input, but I'm not clear on what you mean by being apprehensive and what you're seeking to get from others with this post.

Not sure the other person's limits?
Concern about other people's opinion on you?

Those of you who have been around for a while know my thoughts on race play. I have been asked to do things that I thought were silly, offensive, and frankly, racist.

I've been asked (but never by a Domme that I was in a relationship with) to play a plantation slave, a hoodrat street gangster, a escaped convict rapist, and several other equally stereotypical (and racist IMO) roles.

But the most common (racist) request is being approached by total strangers due to interest in my BBC (even though they have no idea how large my cock is). I'd do some soul searching as to the cause of the apprehension, myself.

If you find it offensive, well, you're allowed limits also.

If you're afraid the guy doesn't have any experience and that there's a high chance for this turning out badly, then refuse.

What you aren't telling us, and it's important, is if this is some strange guy who approached you online or if it's someone you're in a relationship with. Because if he's your sub and has been for three years, then you should be fine about accidentally hitting an emotional trigger and needing to immediately stop and help him.

If it's some total stranger, then I wouldn't worry too much until after you meet. Because he probably won't meet you, he just wants to wank online.

I'm not cool with race play either. If others like it...great. It's just not for me.
I have had quite a few African American subs/ slaves, none of them mentioned it either.

Hey op...

If you're apprehensive, then you're right to pause.

My take is that if the sub enjoys it, and the dom enjoys it then fair enough.

Personally though, it would be a hard limit for me.

If you're still uncomfy after thinking about it, then my advice would be to pass.

I'm not sure where you're going with this. It seems to be a total digression from the OP's question about her comfort/discomfort with race play.

Other than the fact that the word "race" is included in both places, it doesn't appear to be even tangentially related to the OP's question.

Perhaps you should start a new thread with a title like "Are there different races within the human race?" But of course, it wouldn't belong in General BDSM Discussion.
