Hello and thank you for reading my question. I am new to this site and am sub and bi curious, if someone has viewed my profile is it my responsibility to contact that person, is it expected of a sub.

Not unless they seem interesting to you and you want to. Being a "sub" means being yourself... acting like you! Would you feel like you must respond to someone on okcupid or match.com? No? Same here. Being a "sub" only means that you choose to submit to one person (or more if that is your choice). It doesn't mean that you are expected to be or behave in a submissive manner to others. The only rules are: 1. be safe. 2. have fun. 3. take everything you read with a healthy dose of salt 4. don't wear white after Labor Day (northern hemisphere, USA-specific). :) best, sunshine

You're not even obligated to reply to people who message you, unless you want to speak to them. Message people who interest you. Viewing your profile means nothing except they looked at you. Please read the responses you got to your question over and over until your brain is ready to accept what has been said to you. Then spend some time pondering these responses until you can adequately answer this question: Why on earth would you think you had to do that?

understood thank you. Perhaps my question was worded incorrectly. If I have viewed a Master or Mistress and they have viewed me, is the sub expected to make first contact? Or is it proper to wait on their decision. Does that sound more resonable, I wouldnt contact someone unless I was interested. I am 50, male

We're all just people. Including you. Until and unless you decide to serve a particular person, you're just a regular guy hanging out... deciding whether you want to have a date with another person. All standard dating rules apply.

If someone interests you then contact them. Oh and you might want to fix your profile, it says your 40.

Especially on this side, people will view your profile to be able to tailor a response. Are you male or female, young or older, as frequently that will change what we write. With your name, people may also just be curious as to where in Canada you are. Or they may like your picture and want to see what other pictures you have up. If you get a missed call from an unknown number, do you feel obliged to call them back and ask what they want? Because that's the same thing.

I'd like to hear from the Dommes - if you a view a sub's profile and don't contact him, does that mean you are not interested? I'm a femsub and felt it was safe to assume that if a Dom viewed me and did not write, he was either not interested or lacked the assertiveness/aggressiveness I sought. I'm wondering if there are gender differences. When I first joined the site, one of my first profile views was from a man with a very intriguing profile. I did write him, and we did become involved in various ways until I moved back home, but we weren't what the other sought. It was certainly a learning experience, though.

If I view someone's profile it's usually just out of curiosity, either due to their photo or something they've posted, or I could be hopping from one profile to the next via Friends lists. If the mood hits Me I My might leave a comment or a hello. Some people are just casually perusing profiles. It doesn't mean they would or wouldn't be interested if you struck up a conversation. The best way to find out is to say hello. Certainly if you've seen someone show up on your Viewing Me page and they INTEREST you, then contact them even if they said wrote nothing. There are no rules written in stone.

I can't tell you the number of times while cruising the forums I accidentally click on someone's name instead of the thread. I usually back out without ever looking at the profile, so no do not message everyone who looks at your profile.
