I make no claim to know whether she told the truth and changed her mind or if she lied from the beginning. The truth is that I think that all three of them (Mr. Mrs and the GF) are less than stellar pillars of society, so it's difficult to tell.

Unless she has video of him standing there with a gun when she made that statement there is always the chance that she was lying at the time. The more she changes her story the less believable she will become.

When you discard her testimony, you have Zimmerman telling the 911 operator that his girlfriend is pregnant and stuff. Oh, yeah, and then you have the 911 tape of her getting locked out by Zimmerman. And then the police having the enter the apartment and dismantle Zimmerman's barricade. At a minimum there's "Wasting The Police's Valuable Time" charges in there somewhere. The real question is, "Given that Zimmerman began this with a million dollar debt and two hundred dollars in the bank account, who is paying the lawyer?"

Looks like its over - MIAMI (AP) — George Zimmerman will not face domestic violence charges because his girlfriend did not wish to pursue the case and there was scant evidence of a crime, a state prosecutor said Wednesday. Samantha Scheibe's decision not to cooperate and the lack of other corroborating evidence would have made the case difficult to prove, State Attorney Phil Archer in Seminole County said in a statement. "There is no reasonable likelihood of a successful prosecution," Archer said. [:D]

But stuff like that seems to get ignored in favor of the far more sensational "George assaulted a police officer" bit.
