sunshinemiss -> EAR WORMS (11/21/2013 5:46:48 AM)

You are forewarned!
My current earworm ... wakes me up at night and then lulls me back to sleep. Elegant. Haunting. Full of yearning. I don't speak French, so I had to look up the lyrics. It's better known as a song by Carla Bruni, but I prefer the version I linked. Heartbreaking with a dash of hope.

Go ahead - take a listen. Got an earworm you wish to share?

sunshine

*in case you want the lyrics - and if any of you speak French and think there is a better translation, please feel free to share it. I got the translation here: http://nichitastanescu.wordpress.com/2007/04/05/quelquun-ma-dit-carla-bruni-translation/ *

I’m told that our lives aren’t worth much,
They pass like an instant, like wilting roses.
I’m told that time slipping by is a bastard
Making its coat of our sorrows.
Yet someone told me…

That you still loved me
Someone told me…
That you still loved me.
Well ? Could that be possible?

I’m told that fate makes fun of us,
That it gives us nothing and promises everything,
When happiness seems to be within our reach,
We reach out and find ourselves like fools.
Yet someone told me…

That you still loved me
Someone told me…
That you still loved me.
Well ? Could that be possible?

Well ? Could that be possible?

So who said that you still loved me?
I don’t remember any more, it was late at night,
I can still hear the voice, but I can no longer see the face,
“He loves you, it’s secret, don’t tell him I told you.”
You see, someone told me

That you still loved me
Did someone really tell me?
That you still loved me
Well, could that be possible?

I’m told that our lives aren’t worth much,
Passing in an instant, like wilting roses,
I’m told that time slipping by is a bastard,
Making its coat of our sadnesses.

That you still loved me
Someone told me…
That you still loved me.
Well ? Could that be possible?

Yes. An old Nancy Sinatra song they keep playing on television to advertise an upcoming programme. It's called Bang Bang.

Level -> RE: EAR WORMS (11/22/2013 7:41:48 PM)

James Ingram and Michael McDonald, "Ya Mo Be There". I'm not sure why, I've always hated the song, but the chorus has been stuck in my head the last 3-4 days.

My ears were free of worms until I read Level's post on the scroll.
Thanks an awful lot Level! [sm=gaah.gif]
