Serious question: is there a point where body modification goes beyond 'personal expression of identity' into 'probable mental illness'? Forgive me, I can't think of a way of phrasing that which doesn't sound judgmental, but I am genuinely curious.

I can see why he gets so much satisfaction out of the modified penis. It's probably always been the center of his life, and now he gets to focus on it every second. Every time he moves, or gets dressed, or showers or goes out in public (it's gotta show in his pants) he gets to think momentarily once again about his preciousssssss. It's like being in chastity.
