It is 28 degrees outside, there is a light freezing rain falling...
I have not had my first cup of coffee yet...

Kera and Blu (clearly morning people/critters) have decided that the winter weather is just perfect for insane behavior. They go out the back door, run around to the front door, beg to be let in so they can run through the house to the back door and beg to be let out.

Princess thinks that ice on the ground is perfect for rolling in. Jasper (lab/australian shepherd) evidently believes that he is too dignified to play, and therefore barks at the other dogs for playing in the yard, or in the house.

Lucky, the chow/terrier has a new game. Go outside and walk around, then come inside go to my sister's room, jump up on the bed, get under the covers, and put his cold paws on the back of my sister's leg. Makes for some interesting sound effects.

Buddy (rat terrier) the old man of the house, runs out side, does his business, comes back inside and pulls the throw on the back of the couch over himself because he is cold. Smart dog actually.

Lil Red, (chow/cocker spanial/blue heeler) the patriarch is trying to get everyone to behave, by running around like a nutcase and barking. Of course this is between fits of squirming around on her back on the floor and making strange noises.

Thank god the coffee pot is finished brewing.

The car had a 1/4 covering of ice, couldnt open the doors, TX Highway patrol is saying only to drive if it is an absolute emergency...

Why is the above important, because my niece's boss has demanded all morning crew be at the store or else.

It took us an hour and a half just to get the ice off the door to get in and start the car.

My question, who the fuck is going to go to a burger king in this weather for a fucking sausage biscuit? I mean granted, the staff at the hospital across the street wander over when the weather is nice, but in the rain or stuff like this, they eat in the cafeteria (I have been a patient in that hospital, the food brings a whole new meaning to the term bad hospital food.)

Around here, if they close the county for driving, they mean it. You get major fines if you go out, get in trouble and need to be rescued. Her boss going to pay for towing, car repairs, medical expenses?

Nope, of course not.

I have a new way to get rich.

Let me explain, the ground is frozen, had our first hard freeze a couple weeks ago. What is covering the ground is solid ice, no lulling sound of crunching of snow when you walk, just the ominous cracking sound like you are walking across a frozen pond or lake.

Blu dug a 2x3 foot hole in the yard....

Most of the critters listed were rescues, Princess, lil Red and Jasper are the only non rescues of the bunch.

Adventures related to cold temperatures or things that are frozen . . . like the ground, no. I live in the sub tropics. Hurricanes and monsoon rains, yes.

You just wait till I get my remote access to HARP fine tuned, I will have glaciers in your back yard and icebergs on your beach....

I've only got one furry one, and he's a rescue too. We've enjoyed the last 18 years together. Pug/Chihuahua mix. I wouldn't trade him for the world. As old as he is, most days he acts like a puppy. It amazes and disgusts me the people that think that animals are disposable.

Hey, give me a break. I was glad to leave Michigan because the ELF antenna made my dental fillings hum. Now I gotta' get zapped by HARP icebergs and glaciers? Going to the beach just ain't gonna' be what it used to be!

Although my fillings didn't really hum, that hum at the Detroit and Windsor borders is real and no one knows why. Link
