Well it seems here is not the only place one could say what is up with all these fake profiles. Here I even added a groan for ya'll !!

That figure of $1.5 billion is quite an eye opener. That's a lot of money to be suing for someone using pictures in fake profiles, even more than the lady who spilled coffee at McDonald's got.

Yep, oh and that poor lady from McDonalds had horrible 3rd degree burns, they weren't just a bit red and sore. She had to have skin graphs and a lot of medical care. She deserved that money. This lady well, I am not sure how a dating site is suppose to make sure a person is using the right picture.

I use my baby's picture on facebook, I wonder if that could get a lawsuit going.

Lawyers always shoot for the moon in cases like this, knowing full well that it's just a bargaining point at this moment. The real question is, will this case establish a precedent for how pictures are used online? Will we have to tag/ID/copyright our own images because of this?

Hmm, I wondering there's anything to this from the link in the OP:

Giovinazzo said they can start by using software that filters out profiles claiming to be in the United States but are actually created internationally.
