Hello, it is nice to meet everyone.

I had a little free time and have been curious about this site for a while now. The last time I tried this on another site it ended up being a bit embarrassing. I am in public a lot, and I prefer to have my private and my personal life separate. I hope to add tasteful pictures just nervous about being made public yet again.

While I am looking for someone to share my lifestyle with, I'm in no rush. Too many vanilla dates have made me focus on my friends, family and myself for the time being. I would enjoy popping online regularly talking and becoming more comfortable with myself here. Hope to get to know people and make a few good friends whom I can discuss BDSM lifestyle as well as old SNES RPG's, science, history, and newest episodes of Arrow. ;)

Any advice on navigating and chatting with others would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to becoming a regular and at least graduating beyond 'Vanilla' ranking.

Hi Lloyd and welcome to the discussion side.

I would say that my only advice for the forums is to read a few pages worth of threads, just to get a feel for the tone and which topics tend to come up over and over again. That, and try to be relatively friendly and not take it personally when people disagree with you. After reading your intro, I don't think you'll have any problems with any of those things, since you seem sensible and articulate.

Don't worry too much about getting your photo up if you don't feel comfortable. It is a bonus when people are searching on the profiles side, but it's not totally essential. You could always put up a photo which shows you from behind while you're engaged in a hobby, or a photo of a pet or a project that means something to you.

Thank you Athena. I browsed a little of the forums in the time I had. I appreciate the compliment.

I never considered the idea of getting a photo from behind or while I was doing something but that is a fantastic idea. I don't get my picture taken often, if at all. Yours is intriguing for a profile picture. I will have to think about it as I go to work today.

Welcome to the discussion side Lloyd. This is a great place to learn about BDSM and other things too.

We have a nice group here that is more than willing to help with any specific questions you may have.

I agree with Athena you seem mature and articulate; you won't have problems jumping right into the discussions.

Thanks Chatte. I appreciate the kind words. I am already liking this place more than the others. At least here people talk. You two already remind me of the ladies who run a Kinky meetup in my neighborhood. I will always heed the advice that an angry man can be easily cooled down and may forget why he was angry, but that a woman will remember twenty years later and will make you pay somehow. I may prefer the dominant role, but I'm no fool. ;)

Thanks LadyPact. I'm just trying to find my niche. Still feeling out the site a bit. Did a search for people in Alaska on here, not as many as I had thought. Guess I shouldn't be too surprised. The internet is not the best here. . . heh.
