ORIGINAL: littlewonder I used to be one of the moms that would wait out at Toys R Us at midnight to get the most popular toy of the season for my daughter when she was just a child. I would do it with my sisters and it was fun because we would leave the kids at home with the dads while we had a girls day out. Afterwards we'd stop for dinner and drinks because we would make a full day of it, going to every store possible for deals. Yeah, we'd make the plans the night before, cut the coupons, etc.... But since I no longer live near my sisters and my daughter is all grown up and neither Master or I need anything that we need to do Black Friday for, I no longer do it. I did however, go to a few stores today in the afternoon but none of the stores were crowded and I really didn't see any price differences from the usual prices. Few stores around here had any sales from what I could see. The only reason I went at all was to exchange slippers I bought for Master that were the wrong size. And I rarely have a day off or get home early enough any other time. Oh that sounds like fun! I would love to do that with my sister, but I am in Missouri and she is in Kentucky. I may drag her out one black friday though. :) Yeah, I have to admit, your idea of Black Friday shopping sounds a lot less abrasive. Just a day out to enjoy yourself. I no longer live near my sisters and our kids are all adults now so I no longer get to enjoy those days. It was fun while they lasted though. I admit there was one year where I fought off a woman for a cabbage patch kid doll at Toys R Us. Oh my how funny!! I have a friend I met this summer, her and her Master just moved here from Baltimore. This is her first holiday season without her kids or her sisters. To make it worse I found out that evening her Master had to work and she spent the day in bed. I told her she should have told me, it sucks being alone on a holiday especially the first one so far away from friends and family.
