How many have seen profiles where one of the attributes they are claiming is "mentally stable?"

Where is the fun in that? Yes I have bipolar disorder, and keep to my medication routine religiously, but as for the rest of my quirks I enjoy them to fucking much to give them up and become mentally stable.

I dont want to give up my four times a year drinking binges where I get filthy, knee walking, toilet hugging, singing with the dogs, falling down drunk.

I dont want to give up my practical jokes, such as calling the house and asking my niece if Damian is asleep.... when I have him with me.

Or using my best investments ever to scare the bejesus out of my niece. (remote controlled rat and spider)

I dont suffer from insanity, I wallow in it and enjoy it.

Other things I do is send my niece pictures of Damian in the washing machine and telling her I am going to give him a bath.

I dunno-I can kinda see the argument for a potential sub/slave desiring "mental stability"in any applicant dominants.

Just saying

I see them wanting someone who is not deranged, psychotic, etc. But all that does not mean mentally stable. I mean my sister by blood is mentally stable, and she will not even get on a kiddie roller coaster.

I enjoy my insanity...Look, a squirrel!!!

As a parent, if you ever pulled this "practical joke" on me, I'd kick your ass until my great grand children got tired.

You know, there's a level of silliness or childish game playing that is a good thing but scaring a parent in just about the worst way possible isn't fun, funny, or worthy of an adult.

directiveerror -> RE: Oh come on!!! (12/1/2013 4:57:46 PM)

how does having a sense of humor make one mentally unstable? have i been misunderstanding it all this time?.... no wonder everyone calls me crazy, that makes much more sense.

i always thought mentally unstable was the guy outside of my window screaming "i'm going to fucking kill you you crazy bitch *pause for crying break* I HATE YOU *kick things and cry some more*"

now under your explanation i think i finally get it, thank you

Actually, she laughed at it. Usually when we start up the drive we call so whoever is in the house can put the dogs out so we can carry in groceries or if Damian is asleep so they dont bark and wake him up. Add to that she knows that when Damian is with me, he is either in the cart if shopping or I am holding his hand if he is walking. Hell in the house he is never out of my sight. If I am in the living room, so is he. If I am in my room, I park him on the bed, put on a Disney movie or music videos or reruns of wipeout (he loves it when the contestants get knocked in the water.)

One last point, Gizzy (my niece, a nickname from Gizmo from the gremlins) claims that she knows exactly what Damian is doing, no matter where she is or he is.

This is one of the things I love about Collarme. It is a place I can go to talk with people who - like me - enjoy tying people up and beating them, while still being considered mentally stable.

Likewise. Also putting the kid in the washing machine. Damien is young enough that he might just repeat that trick when your back is turned, with devastating consequences.

There's a difference between 'stable' and 'boring'. There's also a difference between 'fun' and 'completely inappropriate'. What you're describing doesn't seem to like insanity to me. It seems like a weird sense of humour.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Oh come on!!! (12/2/2013 9:04:50 AM)

I don't believe anyone on this site or anywhere else is completely "mentally stable." Everyone has baggage, bad experiences that may still cause them pain, etc. When I see someone saying they are "mentally stable," I take it to mean they have a minimum amount of mental instability, and emotional baggage they are bringing along. I also think that more often than not, those who feel a need to announce their "mental stability," using are the least mentally stable.

As for the practical jokes, I thought they were funny, and I've raised a child and have a grandchild. Also, because I many know you a bit better than others, as well as your sister and your household situation, I realize that their sense of humor runs along the same crooked line as yours (and mine, lol).

kalikshama -> RE: Oh come on!!! (12/2/2013 3:27:27 PM)

I would be leery of anyone who felt a need to include that they are "mentally stable." To me this indicates that they are in fact not mentally stable and are not aware of this or that they pick a lot of mentally unstable partners, which is also a red flag and an indicator that something needs fixing.

I wouldn't have a problem with something more casual like "I am safe and sane."

jlf1961 -> RE: Oh come on!!! (12/2/2013 3:55:24 PM)

Lets see, the washer is a top load, Damian is 22 months old, 3 feet tall, most of it legs, and he can only get his legs in the washer. As to why he was up there to begin with, being an active almost two year old, he decided on the way into the house from the car that the mud was the perfect place to plop his little body down and play in it. So I stood him on the dryer to strip him with a minimum of mess, and then move him to my bathroom for final clean up, he sat down and put his feet in the washing machine and started giggling.

This is the same kid that will go to Nana's bathroom and get into the lowest linen cabinet and pull the door shut, which causes blu to start barking because Damian is hiding. He has closed the door to walkin closets while his mom, his nana or my self are in the closet getting something.

He will close the door to my bedroom, and if you ask him if it is okay to open it, the answer is "NO!"

He no longer tries to touch spiders, instead he will get his mom, lead her to the spider, point and say "Spider." Now he does not say what he wants to show her, just says "Show You."

My niece has arachnophobia. She sees the spider, screams and the little angel giggles. (I want to get him his own remote controlled wall climbing spider for christmas.)

He will also flush the toilet while you are in the shower. He will try to go out the door and close it behind him, even though he knows he is not allowed outside without an adult.

If there is something embarrassing in a drawer that you want to stay there, he will get it out and show people, and dont talk about the "child proof" things to keep kids from opening cabinets and drawers, he figured those out a day after we put em on every cabinet, drawer, dresser etc in the house. Cabinets are now wired shut, but drawers are still fair game.

on the topic of mental stability, I just found a quote from Marylin Monroe.

It is better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: Oh come on!!! (12/2/2013 8:47:55 PM)

My aunt once gave a description of me and my younger sister. I most closely resemble the wild pony trapped in the "merry go round" being forced to give kids rides in a circle every day. But all I want is out to run wild and free.

My sister is the good little horse who loves to gives the children rides and doesn't know of any existence outside that circle.
.
To this day I'm the one in the family with the twisted sense of humor, the offbeat one, the 50 yr old daughter who refuses to become a grown up. I've left that to my younger sister. I got the boobs, she got the broomstick up her arse. [:D]
