That notion apparently orginated with those whose 'expertise' about snakes came from overfeeding a ball python under a heat lamp in a glass container, and who 'got off' on watching the live food being consumed. These snakes are nocturnal, venomous, and arboreal (thus the need to keep the bait snagged up in the canopy). They eat cold blooded lizards or warm blooded animals dead or alive. People on Guam find them in the garbage going after the blood in used tampons, and chicken innards. Again, this is no joke, do a little more research on the real problem, and this last ditch effort when everything else has failed. .quote:
ORIGINAL: jlf1961 Yes, I read about this, and I have to ask a very important question. Does the idiot who came up with this plan realize that snakes are not scavengers, they eat live prey? I have a sneaking suspicion that this person may be the same guy that thought buying jet engines from General Dynamics that needed proprietary tools that cost a couple of grand was a good idea.
