ariana76 -> New and Need Help (12/6/2013 4:45:45 PM)

Hello All! My name's Ariana. I'm not new to Collar Me, but new to the message boards. I need help. There's a strong powerful need inside of me to explore what I believe is my submissive side with my husband. The thing is, I don't know how to do it, and even though he has a dominant side to him, he has not quite fully revealed it to me. I know it's there, but I think he is a bit apprehensive. This may sound silly I know, but is there anywhere we can go to 'learn' how to do this? Frankly I think if left to our own devices, Id probably laugh out loud every time he would attempt to try something, because that's how I respond when I am uncomfortable. I tried to google D/s lifestyle and all the relevant key words, but nothing comes up. I'm more interested in D/s to start with...We live in Boston, MA. If anyone knows of anything or has been in this situation I really appreciate any and all information. Thank you very much xoxo

If you haven't already done so, you should check out Fetlife. There you can look for events/demos happening in your area.
There is also a wonderful book collection that many in your same situation have found useful to them. Good luck!

The absolute first step is to ensure that your post here is not in conflict with your profile. Because that would be bad.

I thought the same thing at first, Steven, until I read her journal.
An updated profile might help slow down any unwanted males/mails at least. [;)]

Hi Ariana! Welcome to the discussion side.

There are lots of people here with lots of different types of D/s relationships and lots of real life experience, so hopefully you will find some helpful information here.

There are definitely places you can go to learn BDSM techniques, but when it comes to the D/s side of things it isn't really possible to go to a class about how to do it, since it comes down to individual dynamics. But getting to know lots of people in lots of different D/s relationships will help you find your way, as will reading widely and asking tons of questions.

Just jump right in to any discussion you see here and share your thoughts, and don't be shy about starting your own threads. You will probably get better answers if you can try to keep to one specific topic per thread, though I know it can be hard to focus in on a single question when you're still trying to get your head round the whole thing.

The best thing is the fact that you are both interested. With good communication you will get there eventually. I'm always happy to talk if you want to speak to a fellow sub - I think we made every mistake in the book when we started out, so I won't think your concerns are silly.
