Somebody whined that the PA didn't get the priveleges of a nation as an excuse for terrorism. I responded by explaining what the PA could do to get those priveleges. The concessions Israel should make to bring peace? Cease torture of prisoners, Cease destroying the homes of the families of suicide bombers, release those Hamas legislators who haven't been directly involved in the planning of terrorist actions, Cease expansions of West Bank settlements out side the Jerusalem suburbs, Exercise more caution in the use of force to stop terrorist attacks but no so much caution that it endangers Israeli civilians. They should also probably find some way to release the money earmarked for the PA without giving it to Hamas or Fatah but I have no idea how to pull that off.

Having peace in the Middle East is simple. Stop attacking Israel and accept the right for Israel to exist. How much more simple do you want it?

Estring. I think you are saying the Palastinians ought to get just used to living as second class citizens in their own country and what little they have left of their own land they should give that up to more Israeli settlements too.

Back to the Chicks and the CountryWestern stations that banned them: how typical of the Re-thug-clicans and the redneck crackers: they squawk the loudest about patriotism and being true americans, but they are always the first ones to suppress free speech!!! The hypocrites...

hmmm but it isn't thier land now is it? Palestine lost the war. They need to move on and make a new life somewhere else. By this same thinking...we would have to give back Chicago to the American Indians that used to live there near the lake, and give back Northern Indiana to the Miami tribe, and the Appalician mountains to the Cherokee. War doesn't work that way. You lose. You lose. You can either go on....rebuild a life somewhere else, it isn't fair, in fact it sucks big time. But it is a story played out over thousands of years with many different civilizations. The alternative is to keep on fighting the war and diminish your people even more by fighting. Babies die that way. So do the men that plant seeds in the woman's belly's. Women die that bear the children. Sometimes the wisest thing to do is stop fighting. Chief Joseph saved lives by giving up. Less people die that way. You know.....a person that isn't fighting can get a job....build a house.....make a new home somewhere else. And LIVE. oh shooot i'm a conservative....and i'm sounding like a.....pacifist.... what's up with that??? yikes....i must need caffiene or something... grin earthylaughter

hmmm i love this sort of interaction.... i'm a red state girl at heart... i didn't stop listening to the chicks because the stations stopped playing the music.... i stopped listening to the channels that played the chicks.... you know...that whole republican market based vote with your on off button or radio dial type thing. the country channels realized that the base...not the stations...but the people that listen...didn't want to hear anything that came out of the chick's mouths....especially the fat chick. i love the music....but dang she seriously ticked me off with her comments.....she is not a political person...she is a singer...she should keep to singing and stay out of politics or it ticks off her base.... now on the other hand...i'm not a singer so i can say whatever i want to.... LOL (wry self depreciating grin) but seriously...... the republican party had nothing to do with the demise of the chicks on country radio. the fan's that refused to listen to her music did. that isn't a political party...that is the people.....en masse...making themselves heard. can't get more democratic than that.... grin earthylaughter (stir up the pot...add a little humor....taste....stir...)
