Go down to the local Veterans Affairs office and see if there is a local fund being run to help families visit wounded soldiers in various hospitals around the country.
The Defense Department stops covering expenses for children after five days, and for families it is usually 30 days. And that is if the attending physician deems it to be beneficial for the family being close by.
Donate what you can if their is one.
Today I decided that a gift I was going to get myself for christmas was not that important. I put 250 bucks in a local fund to help those families visit loved ones.
