I have not seen it on DVD, but if you can locate the film "The Naughty Victorians" by all means get it! It has a simple, but believable plot, excellent attention to historical details, EXCELLENT production values (with exterior shots, expensive sets and period details) as well as a clever Gilbert and Sullivan soundtrack! D&S meet G&S! There are some very clever puns worked in for the G&S aficionado as well! The score is orchestral only, but those who know their Filbert and Sullivan will chuckle to such auditory puns as "Titwillow" played during the lesbian scene, "Three little maids from school are we" during the groupsex and "A Wandring minstrel, I, a thing of shreds and tatters" as maidenheads are ravished! The acting is precise and accurate to the Victorian sensibilities, the costuming is superb and expensive, the sets are lavish and utterly convincing and the entire story a joy to experience. It is a re-telling, of course, of the story "A Man and a Maid" and loses nothing of the flavour of that tale! Another wonderful historical piece is "Salon Kitty" which is the story of a brothel run by the SS in Nazi Germany to extract secrets from visiting dignitaries. Again, the expense of the sets, the acting and the costuming are very well done. For the more esoteric, less BDSM, but very watchable, the House of Dreams is a winner. It has been many years since I have seen it, but it stands out in My mind as a very erotic and moving film with peopole appearing, disappearing on camera and floating through a surreal somewhat Dreyeresque white-on-white landscape of a home. Other films which I recommend are Autobiography of a Flea, House of Pain, S&M Home Movie and The Damned. All definitely worthy of a place in the aficionado's shelf. Some are far harder to obtain, but well worth the hunt! Lady Sonelle
