Calley may came through her cancer surgery with flying colors, and as far as we can hope will be a 100 percent healthy lil doggie, for the rest of her life, from this particular issue. it was caught early and caught while the lumps were small.

I cuddled the stuffings out of her, and started my dad with cuddling and house work, and buying food!

How about something positive?

I was released from my job which gives me a free reign to find another job.

My father and older brother both went into the hospital for alcoholism and they have both agreed to stop drinking.

My little brother got his 6 month chip for being sober and he's started a new company providing some seriously cool tech for people who use the Mossberg 500.

2013 was the biggest year of change for me. I no longer work and am trying to get used to the lower income. So far it has been working out.

I relocated within 10 minutes of my parents and I feel good about that as they are aging and need help with things.

I have some health issues but they are not life threatening and can be managed with medications.

I lost two friends (a married couple) earlier in the year. When something like that happens, even though i am agnostic, I hope there is an afterlife so i can think of them being together.

Cheers to 2014

2013 was both good and bad for me and my family- mostly good. My youngest two sons and I all graduated from college. I started my first professional job which is a doozie, it's been kicking my butt for 2 months now, but I'm sure I'll get on board with everything and up to speed with some more time. Working for a major hospital is equally exciting and draining. I'm waiting for the day that I don't come home exhausted. I'm sure it will happen this year at some point. It's actually amazing that I got this job as a new grad and am being compensated very well.

My oldest was injured very badly overseas and has gotten his health back for the most part. I am deeply grateful for that every day. He just got engaged and I like the woman he is with very much.

The middle son flew the coop and lives out of state now. I miss him. I'm waiting for the youngest to do the same. It's good, they have their own lives to live but it's hard seeing them go further away.

I'm looking forward to what the new year brings...
