DsCouple23 -> Why no "owned" button (12/19/2013 7:36:29 PM)

Why not have an "owned" button for slaves, subs and or switches? It seems that about 25-30% of slaves/subs are "already collared and owned", i understand they want to have community on here, but i think it would save the population of CM quite a bit of wasted time, in looking over countless "owned" sub/slaves, whom most of us who are looking don't desire to show up in our search results.

Thoughts?

There's a button that says "Hide User" you can use whenever you come across someone not applicable to your search criteria. It'll help filter it out and make your search a lot easier.

Seconded. I have hundreds of profiles hidden.

Just hide five a day. You'll be amazed how much it helps, once you create your own personal version of the site.

I've "hide user'd" about 100 people. I also use it on fakes of course... But why should i and 10000 other people have to use that over and over and over, it's the equivalent to timing lights for traffic patterns, so people can get places faster, thus saving 10000's of hours over the entire populace over a year's time... I know CM is free, and we should be thankful, but i'm sure it wouldn't take a ton of work to engineer one button.

For me...I say it right up front in my profile...even if they had a button, wouldn't it be the same amount of work for you to read?
Is what you really want is the ability to filter it out when you search?

Yes exactly, so if you are owned, simply click "owned" in your profile and when i search i can specify "owned/unowned" which would be phenomenal for all people. Because some are just looking for friends, some not... saving us all the time and grief.

LadyPact -> RE: Why no "owned" button (12/19/2013 8:12:43 PM)

Have you tried entering a specific search field under the 'they are seeking' category for only those looking for your designation?

Always, i filter to the max extent possible. For instance right now we are looking for a slave.

about 50% are either fakes, and or "collared/owned/taken etc" ... all i'm saying is, i know you can never filter the fakes, but you can filter being "owned" or "collared", its nothing more than a check mark.

LadyPact -> RE: Why no "owned" button (12/19/2013 8:18:43 PM)

While I'd personally rather see top/bottom designations added before anything else, if you have a suggestion for changing the site, using the forums isn't the most effective method. I tend to recommend that people send their suggestions to Support, since those are the folks that deal with the profile side.

SeekingTrinity -> RE: Why no "owned" button (12/19/2013 8:23:22 PM)

~FRing it~

Agree with the top/bottom designation being helpful. And Im sorry to play Devil's advocate, OP...but there is a flaw in this train of thought...

What happens if you are owned, yet still seeking people to be with? It happens. I can think offhand of a number of profiles that would fit the situation. Poly folks would be a great example of this.

Support here would be great first.

The thing is, none of the other posters on the forums have any more power to make that change any more than you do. Kind of like taking your issue to the other customers in line, rather than going to the customer's service desk.

I'd LOVE top/bottom designations as well.
But I echo LP- send it to support on the otherside- I think they'll be more helpful than all of us- and the forum moderators are more here for the forum stuff than to help redesign the dating side of the site.

DsCouple23 -> RE: Why no "owned" button (12/19/2013 8:42:04 PM)

Honestly, i've been off and on CM 3x in past 3 years, haven't seen too many thing's changed... what is the most significant change anyone has seen in past 5 years?

J

shiftyw -> RE: Why no "owned" button (12/19/2013 8:42:36 PM)

Also- I don't consider myself "owned" or a "slave"- I'm just a bottom in a monogamous relationship-who has been poly in the past, and maybe again in the future and the "owned" never applies to me- so I guess I think its kinda hard to include EVERYONE'S preferred label.

Greta75 -> RE: Why no "owned" button (12/19/2013 8:42:42 PM)

FAST REPLY

I like the suggestion of "Owned" status being included, as well as "bottom" and "top", because I really want to put myself down as a "bottom" lol!

On the other hand, I had quite a few doms asked me if I was a tranny or a gay man masquerading as woman when I try to explain that I am a bottom. It seems like not alot of doms in my area understand the word "bottom".

The spam filter is My top fave.

There have also been a number of sections added, changes to the forum guidelines, the ability to embed pictures in posts, and a few other incidentals that I could mention.
