In both the 'shoe drop', and this thread, you use the present tense.

Quote me.

Quote me where I've said anything different than:

Present tense: Millions of people have lost insurance. True.
Future tense: 50 Million people will probably lose insurance when obamacare hits group health insurance.

Ah.. you know the old saying about opinions and assholes... everyone has one.

Ever hear of Nate Silver?

Funny thing is - currently predicting between 50 and 51 seats for the repubs in 2016.

Thats one thing about Nate. I don't like his politics - but I respect his integrity.

Oh, I'm sorry, am I suppose to take anything you say seriously or intelligently? You can believe what ever fantasy you want. The reality is all your predictions have been found to be untrue. Just like you said Romney would win by a wide margin in the 2012 general election.

Mr. Silver is using data at current and not within three to six months of the actual election. Still a lot can happen between here and there. Plenty of time for Republicans and Tea Party to show America just how 'fucked in the head' they are....

Regarding your fantasy of a blue sweep: Rothesburger dec 18th poll expects a republican pickup in 2014 of 4-7 seats.
Now while the dims are picking up huge amounts of money from wallstreet and insurance companies - and significantly outraising 'pubs - my bet is that pubs still pick up more than 4.

truckinslave -> RE: 2016 Wave (12/22/2013 11:12:11 AM)

It continues to worsen. Sebelius just announced that if 0bama0care, in effect, cancelled your policy, you can go without insurance penalty-free... Wasn't 0bama0care supposed to reduce the number of uninsured???

The Weekly Standard has the story.

...The wrecking ball swung again toward the crumbling Obamacare edifice yesterday. Ironically, it continues to be the Obama administration that is operating the heavy machinery....

Yeah, its a good article. The irony is that if you were too poor to afford insurance in the first place, you have to pay the penalty if you don't get insurance.

Whereas if you HAD insurance and are cancelled, now you don't.

Snicker.

I think you're right, even the "milleniums" young people are disgusted with "President Snow" and the democrats now.
I could start listing things but it would just take too long,...to read.

Using a word and referring to a person are two different things. You wanted the President to lose the race. So you voted for someone that had not a snowballs chance in hell. That's your right I guess. I actually not in the habit of counting out petty things. Perhaps I am mistaken, or perhaps you referred to Mr. Romney without stating the fellow's name. For example, I have referred to Mr. Obama and 'the President' in different posts. They are of the same person. An 'no', I'm not going to look up all the crazy ways conservatives have hacked the President's name up for a cheap attack either...

I didn't say the sweep would be blue. Only that at present course, the Republican/Tea Party have not made any solid gains on any topic in the last few years. By the time the next election rolls around, it will be about 'how the economy is doing' rather than 'The ACA', 'Benghazi', or 'Who is Palin sleeping with now...'. Anyone with an objective memory will be less incline to vote Republican, seeing as those folks were the one that FUCKED the nation up in so many unpleasant ways. Yes, Republicans will pick up a few seats and lose plenty more. Will the Democrats obtain the House? Anyone's guess at the moment. Will the Democrats hold onto the Senate? Fairly likely.

Would love to be able to say 'one size fits all' for a helpful explanation here. Depending on the state, the penalty according to the ACA kicks in on Jan 1, 2014. This means that today, Dec. 23 is the last day to sign up for a healthcare plan through the exchanges.

HOWEVER....

You might want to check the information here for further info.

Remember, the penalty for not having a healthcare plan is $95 or 1% of your gross income (which ever is higher). This is only for 2013. Next year it goes up to $395 or 1.5% (I'm not 100% sure on that 1.5% rate).

You can think as you like. But remember:

President Obama has done some pretty good stuff for America.

An in almost every case did with either very heavy or total opposition by the Republican/Tea Party. Oh, an a strong 50% in the 18-29 year olds approve of the President's job. I don't know where your getting your information from....

Actually, you have till March to sign up to avoid the penalty.

LOL: Bullshit. What is not allowed are thread derails. But since you did that already by introducing my supposed political affiliation into a thread about 2016 you can't use that a shield when someone calls you on your bullshit.

Your post about me voting for Romney was a lie. And this post is lie. You're not concerned about the rules, you're looking for an excuse - any excuse to avoid admitting it.

Fortunately, I am not loathe to quote *you*

The reality is you make posts that are lies just to further your political point of view, and that are exercises in dishonesty.

You have had ample opportunity to quote a prediction and how it hasn't happened - just like I am quoting you now.

If you actually had a leg to stand on, you would be quoting my words back at me at every opportunity.

quote:

I didn't say the sweep would be blue.

Of course you did. Let me quote it again.

So heres the facts. I started a thread about how the obamacare meltdown might lead to the the possibilities of a 2016 wave.
As a liberal dim, eager to disrupt that narrative you post personal attacks (all of your predictions are untrue, are silly, you predicted romney would win by a wide margin), that are untrue, and completely unsupported.

That about sums it up.

Ah thompsonx, usually your posts are so far beneath notice I just skip 'em. But this was so amusing, I'll make an exception.
You snip 1 line out of a 21 line post and say there seems little space left for facts.

And miss the irony completely.

Truly, thank you for the laugh.

mnottertail -> RE: 2016 Wave (12/23/2013 9:09:42 AM)

There is no irony if there is no fact, and there are none.

a 10% approval of congress, why?  because they didnt go for round 43 in the repeal?  Or maybe because they are inept, incoherent, innumerate, insincere, and ignorant?

The rest of the world is completely aware that your post is dumpster diving - and is laughing.

mnottertail -> RE: 2016 Wave (12/23/2013 9:13:21 AM)

Now, there you got irony.
