The only doms in my area that I have chatted with keep telling me to go sign up for a 20$ account on alt.com. I obviously never have since I'm kind of weary of the scammers floating around here. Has anyone else noticed this? And, do you think it's advisable to avoid signing up for one of these, or is it like a common practices amongst doms?

Denver has a very lively D/s BDSM community. I would suggest attending some events rather than paying to sign up on Alt. Even their paid subscriptions are disappointing.

Alt was a great site back in the day. I met people there, definitely worth the money at the time. However, it changed ownership and the new people made a bunch of bad decisions. At this point, it deserves to die.

Are you looking for a hookup with a top, or for a relationship with a man who tells you what to do? If it's the first, gay.com and grindr are probably your best bets. If it's the second, CollarMe is a hetero-leaning site, unfortunately. You probably won't find a local dom here. However, there are a few gay men, both dom and sub, who post on these boards and are high quality people. So if they see this thread, you might get more specific advice.

Also, it's worth attending local events whenever there are classes and demonstrations. You probably won't pick up anybody, but you'll gain important knowledge about safety, and you'll realize new things are possible that you didn't know about before.

Oh, the word is usually "femdom" or "domme." Or "dominant woman."

Well, stay away from Porn...it will screw up your expectations and make them unrealistic. Dominant women are REAL people...with leader type personalities, not actors, not caterers, so don't expect to hand them a fetish "to do" list and have them perform for you. You probably know some Dominant women already, you just haven't learned how to spot them.

Oh wow! That is definitely one of those spelling errors that change everything! I had a whole response ready to post and then saw the "I am straight"... Alt is very popular with the "professional" set... Female Dommes are hard to find online. The odds are just not good. Does Denver have any TNG groups? Dark Steven, who is very active in the Denver scene, may come along and answer that hopefully!

Fetlife is free and lists meetings in your area. They have a group of TNG meaning 21 to 35 years old in the greater Denver area.

Your best bets would be Skales and TNG night at the Sanctuary. Skales attracts a younger crowd, and TNG night is limited to 18-35.
