j15markj -> Hello (12/29/2013 2:03:31 PM)

Hi, Everyone - - -

I have had an account here on CollarMe.com for a while, but besides posting a profile and doing a little reading here and there, I haven't done much else.

I am a Dom looking for a female sub, and live along the Front Range of the Rockies [Denver/Boulder area]. Just relocated here fairly recently and am looking for someone I can get to know with the intention of finding a long-term companion. To be clear, I am emotionally available, not married, and willing to invest the time and effort with the right person.

I have had some wonderful D/s relationships but have never really been much of a player at all. In general I form a few deep relationships rather than having a large circle of casual acquaintances. And I think that carries over to how I handle my involvement in the D/s scene.

Nonetheless, as the New Year approaches, I thought a bit more participation here in the message boards might help me, umm, "expose myself" to some females here that might be hesitant to proactively reach out just on the basis of a CollarMe profile.

It is a bit surprising to me that so many of the "Newest Local Users" I see are so young - so many in their 20's. Nothing wrong with that of course - maybe it's just that a lot of discovery and experimentation starts happening during that period of life.

Anyway, look forward to chatting with anyone who has the inclination!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Mark

Nice intro!

I'm sure your fellow Colorodian DarkSteven will be along to offer you some tips on your local scene.

Thank you for the welcome, kalikshama.

Was reading something recently about whether to call a Colorado resident a "Coloradoan" or a "Coloradan". Conclusion was that there is some rule that says if the word is of Spanish origin, the final "o" is replaced by "an". Like "Mexico -> Mexican". So - "Coloradan".

But, "Colorodian" has a nice ring to it!

Hey, Steven!

Thanks so much for the info - I will take a look.

Ever been to an event where you ran into someone you know "in real life"?

Not a problem if you are "out" as a practitioner of this flavor of "The Power Arts™" - but what if you keep that separate from your professional life?

Best,
Mark

A few times.

Once, I was at a vendor demo and recognized a local sub. She gave me a hug and chatted vanilla with me, and simply told her coworkers that she'd met me at a party, which was true.

The second time, I was at a jobhunters meeting and recognized a local woman. I walked up to her, said hello to her, using her first name, and quietly told her I was DarkSteven. Then we chatted vanilla.

I've also run across some kinksters on the vanilla site LinkedIn.

What about the opposite scenario - meeting somebody you know from your professional life at a munch or other kinky event? That case seems like it could be a bit more awkward.

DarkSteven -> RE: Hello (from Denver/Boulder) (12/29/2013 6:39:44 PM)

Never happened. But if it did, I'd not freak out. They would be just as much at the event as I was.

There is a HUGE thing about not outing fellow kinksters. If someone were to out another to vanillas, they'd be banned from all events in the state.

Howdy Mark! Welcome to the boards. Enjoy the journey!
