Wowzers! I thought it was just to borrow a kindle and get free shipping. I had no idea there was all this free streaming. They have The Closer free on streaming. I squeeed a bit when I saw that. My kids were happy to see The Avatar on there, We may drop Netflix and go with Amazon.

I share Prime with my neighbor. We love it. Netflix has a better selection, but if you don't have Must Haves, Prime can keep you entertained for a long, long time.

OsideGirl -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/29/2013 5:10:40 PM)

I love having Prime.

TieMeInKnottss -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/29/2013 5:19:57 PM)

Since Prime, I don't have to ever go Christmas shopping in person. Plus, I love being able to get clothes, food items, toys...all from one place delivered for free.

MsMJAY -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/29/2013 6:17:55 PM)

I love my prime membership. Free shipping, good movies and my daughter watches a lot of kid shows on it.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/29/2013 6:31:29 PM)

I am loving it too, I think we may drop netflix and keep the Prime.

VeryMercurial -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/29/2013 9:51:09 PM)

I have been a Prime member for about a year now.

Love, Love, Love my prime membership.

I can order ANYTHING I want including food items, and get it with free shipping in 2 days.

I sometimes feel guilty ordering something for less than $20, but what the hell.

DommeWifey -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/29/2013 10:22:21 PM)

I've been a member for years and only buy clothes in person. If you live in new york the shipping is often next-day.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/30/2013 7:46:46 AM)

We've had it about seven years and (obv) love it! We are in Louisville and also often get things the next day. We wouldn't be overly surprised if things showed up the same day, as fast as some of the items arrive! I guess we'll have to wait until they start with delivery by drone!

windchymes -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/30/2013 8:02:40 AM)

I've had Prime for a couple years, and I do like the shipping deal. I do a lot of online shopping, and every now and then I find an item that is cheaper to buy, even with the shipping charges, but I usually use the Prime. Unfortunately, I don't have a Fire yet, or else I'd probably be raving about it, lol. Next time I get a financial windfall, I'm going to get the big HD one, then I'll be catching up on a lot of movies.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/30/2013 2:47:54 PM)

I don't watch on my Kindle, I downloaded amazon on the Wii and we watch streaming on that.

Ollieboomboom -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/30/2013 3:39:01 PM)

After all these fantastic recommendations, I'm going to sign up. They should pay you all a commission fee. LOL

I'm with dovie...

I was thinking about it, but they sold me on it!

The free two day shipping is really fabulous. I ordered Christmas presents on Sunday that were delivered on Christmas Eve Day.

Don't try this next year, though, because not everyone got their gifts on time: http://www.geekwire.com/2013/christmas-delayed-amazon-offers-20-gift-cards-shipping-refunds-ups-fedex-problems/

Looks like an ice storm in Texas a few weeks ago was a big part of the problem...I'm in Massachusetts, where we know how to handle ice [8D]

Is prime worth having if you don't own (or want) a kindle?

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: Amazon Prime (12/30/2013 7:01:00 PM)

If you have a way to watch streaming off of your TV I would say give it a try. It's free the first month.

What amazes me is when they get ice and snow storms up north people loose their power for weeks and weeks. We get an ice storm and I think the longest anyone was out of power was 3 hours. We got a fair amount of ice and we didn't loose power at all at my house.

Yes! Free two day shipping, free streaming videos, oh! and you can make your computer (or cell phone) a kindle reader, and "rent" one free book per month.
