We're the penultimate ones, being in Calilfornia - so have a Happy New Year 2014, when it comes in a few hours!

Pyramus -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (12/31/2013 9:10:04 PM)

I just wrote this - but didn't know where to post it - yet, seeing this thread, figured it may be apropos given that I looked at the OP's profile, noticed the pleasing pet was married, and realized, on New Year's Eve, he, and I, are, in some ways, perhaps in a similar situation. Sad (for me), hopefully not for him.

We're both, alone, married, and, at least in my case, the wife is out with friends, and I, all alone, simply seek a spark of warmth and comfort.

Happy New Year to all!

ShaharThorne -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/1/2014 4:10:53 AM)

Happy New Year!

Try finding a doctor who takes new patients who are on Medicare/Medicaid with numerous disorders to see you within a week so you can get your medicines for HBP, high cholesterol and hypothyroidism, not to mention pain killers (arthritis anyone?).

I will not be seeing my daughter Lizard until August when we will go raiding an anime con. I have to buy her dragon scales for her armor (she wants to be an elf this year). I probably have to go to Fetlife to find that guy who specializes in chain mail to teach her how to do develop a shirt for her.

MsMJAY -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/1/2014 5:24:36 AM)

Happy New Year everyone! I noticed that people tend to post personal tidbits about themselves in roll call so here goes.

Right now my life is pretty good with one exception. I have cervical spondylosis. It is secondary to a cracked vertebrae I sustained in the military. I have some degree of pain everyday but usually its pretty mild and manageable without meds. Lately the pain has been really bad. At night its almost unbearable. I also notice that when I wake up throughout the night either one or both of my arms/hands are completely numb. That kind of freaks me out, but I have read that it goes along with the condition. I have a doctors appointment scheduled for this month to get checked and discuss options. I am also looking into changes in dietary habits and possibly homeopathic remedies that may give me some relief.

Blonderfluff -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/1/2014 5:53:28 AM)

Happy New Year!!
Here's my roll call. Settling in to my new home after moving here from DC a few months ago.
Kids all thriving in college. My pride is sometimes palpable.
Hoping that this year brings an end to my search for my Man. Lol.

On a little trivia note: Today is Jan 1, 2014, and something quite rare will happen. We will start the New Year with a New Moon. This doesn't happen often. The last New moon on New Years was 19 years ago. A New Moon is all about new beginnings, and fresh starts.
What a great way to start 2014!!!!!!

PheonixRose -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/1/2014 10:06:23 AM)

sounds like everyone is having a some what good start to the new year.

As for those of us that comprise Cærgowen. We are having a small celebration and get to start the new year closer together because Master got leave and pet has surgery meanwhile i have school mess and chipmunk is potty training. This is a some what relaxing start to the new year but it is also busy between appointments.

I have mental health appointments with my new Mental Dr. for this year till we all get relocated together and i also have to take chipmunk to her specialist in Louisville. So yea here as parts of the forge we each have a messy start to the new year.

School wise i am still sitting with 2 A's and a borderline B in my classes. this group of classes ends next week and i immediately turn the corner and start another 12 week set of classes.

Hope that everyone has a happy and healthy year. See you after the new begins and everything happens to share in the fun achieved and results to appointments around the next Kinky corner in our world.

DarkSteven -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/1/2014 10:34:56 AM)

Tasha's son is gainfully employed, which means an end to the subsidies that have kept us somewhat straitened.

I'm looking for work and expect to land something in January or March.

The third we were anticipating may or may not work out. She's got time management issues as well as an overfull schedule. And her father's got MS and she will need more time to care for him should he get worse.

I've finished several batches of fudge and will be sharing them with neighbors soon.

LadyPact -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/1/2014 1:12:44 PM)

Happy 2014 to everyone.

As I said on another thread, 2013 had a difficult close for a number of folks in the leather community at the passing of one of their own. His loss is being felt very deeply by many.

However, I'm pretty happy. I'm experiencing the best dynamic that I have ever had and completely wrapped up in emotional attachment. It's amazing to have two good men in My life.

TNDommeK -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/1/2014 8:13:38 PM)

Happy near year!!!!

RemoteUser -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/2/2014 9:28:15 PM)

For the first time in a while, I have a year kicking off with quite a bit of activity.

I've started divorce proceedings from the estranged wife. It looks as though we will be able to close the door amicably.

I'm going to learn to drive this month.

I have been negotiating with my son's mother, and we are looking to file for joint custody - although if it is in my son's best interests, that may become my having sole custody, which we have also discussed.

I have let go of the things that caused my relationship with my former girl to fall apart. Now, I'm working on turning those former weaknesses into strengths, with hope (and a future) in mind.

I still need to quit smoking. That one will take a while. But I think it may happen in the near future, and certainly hope to accomplish it well before the midpoint of this year.

I am happier with myself as a person, if not my situation, which is taking many rolling turns. When the dust settles, we'll see where things lay.

Dreamless -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/10/2014 2:00:50 AM)

So, I was all riding down the street when I happened to look up at the sign underneath the Subway, which said: TIRED OF COOKING DINNER? GET A SUB.

I promptly pointed it out to my other, it took her a moment. I wanted to share it though because it amused me.

I always see these threads but I never quite know what to contribute to them. Looking for gainful employment, making my living off of cartography, in a relationship that doesn't really scratch my kink itch... just got a huge free TV. Man, I didn't even make any resolutions, I just launched into the new year by making a quilt. After getting stuck on a Via Rail train. I've never made one before. I just figured, y'know, I could. Totally can. Yeah.

Happy 2014. We toasted to never discovering time travel so we wouldn't have to reexperience 2012 and 2013. CHEERS.

Hello A/all!

I am back. I am recovering from a stroke; but, recovering well. there are occasional "weak days" and it is really funny to watch me run. The worst part is that I am back to zero with skiing, and it has been such a GREAT Winter!

PheonixRose -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/10/2014 3:36:54 PM)

Well we are a little over a week into the month and so much this new year aint quite going right but will all be fixed soon enough.

Between the weather and Master got screwed out of his visiting time. Yesterday he made it to pet and he's helping her get through the major rough streak from her surgery before he heads back to work. The good thing is that he's planning on putting in for an visiting time not Emergency visit so that he can make it to me to spend about 2 weeks with me and chipmunk so I'm doing a slight happy slave dance but wont be celebrating till that time gets here. Plans are to celebrate chipmunk, pet, and my Birthdays while He is here. We also plan on doing a trip to KS to get some stuff.

in other news from the forge i am sitting with an A in applied spreadsheets Confirmed as the final grade. I am still working on getting the stuff for environmental science and customer relations and servicing done. Plans for that are to do the class discussion before heading to bed tonight then do the quiz and essay tomorrow as fast as possible.

other than that all is well Saturday ends the fall 2013 term and follows right in to the winter 2014 term so im busy busy busy girl the good thing is that if i'm doing my math right i should get a break of 1 to 2 weeks between winter and spring terms which will be good because then i wont have as big a worry about trying to do school while spending time with Master and pet.

More updates to occur when I get started next week with winter term.

Have a good time everyone and will see you round the next bend.

shiftyw -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/10/2014 7:34:17 PM)

Happy new year everyone!

Best of luck to all with their professional and personal endeavors!

I realized this year, I'm so happy its frightful.
I've recently managed to pay off my student loans in entirety, and I'm out of debt.
Our move to NH has been mostly successful although the man is looking for work, we will hopefully have news on that front next week.
My goals this year are to lose weight, roughly 50 lbs, but I'd take anything.
Get back in shape, as I am post back surgery and two years of 0 activity has just been killing me.
I also want to try to bake something new every week- although I'm not sure "every week" will happen...but lets hope.
I'd love to get back into the arts...any way that I can.

NiceButMeanGirl -> RE: January (2014) Roll Call!!! (1/10/2014 10:19:24 PM)

I've lost 63 lbs since my bariatric surgery on Sept 16. WooHoo. I want to lose 97 more but I'd be happy to lose another 50. Some of my friends told me my hair would fall out and I'd be getting sick a lot but neither of those happened. I feel better than ever.

Life has been tough for me over the last two years. But with a new job and new opportunities, 2014 is off to a promising start.
And (hopefully) new friends and new experiences to explore here on CM!

Just keep eating right and a healthy diet and you should keep on doing things the proper way and you'll lose all that weight that you dont want to have anymore. I know this because my uncle has had the same thing and as long as he ate right he lost all the weight he wanted. He also invested in protein shakes and such that made him feel fuller longer so that he ate lower portion sizes during meals and such.

Best of luck in your weightloss NBMG.
