The health benefits your article cited focus on the corset as type of back brace and yes, back braces have benefits for some people. The claim that it can solve headache problems and constipation issues are not back up by medical evidence and just make me giggle. But, hey if you have a crushing headache coupled with constipation you probably want relief anyway you can get it. There is documented evidence that placebos work for many people too. Now of course it can do harm if the corset isn't fitted properly and impede lung capacity but any diet that isn't followed properly can be dangerous. A properly fitted corset fits firmly but no more firmly than a prescribed medical corset, around the lower rib cage. A fashion corset snips in at the waist making waist look smaller and the hips look bigger. It shouldn't snip in any more than if you were to voluntarily pull in your stomach. I also suggest to the op, If you really want to talk about this with others, I suggest you go and join the corset training groups on FL. They have 3 thousand members as well as 15 thousand members who are curious.
