Here's what I gathered from reading your profile.  You are very new.  You appear to identify as a switch because you aren't quite sure what appeals yet.

Why not take a bit more time, read the posts on here.  Attend some munches in your area and gain understanding of yourself and what you want from this.  You might decide you truly are a switch or you may find a side you like better. 

Any site with personals has the disadvantage of connecting you to people you might not want to be connected with.  For some people you will be a person they don't want to connect with.  Accept that and move on.  There are many interesting people here and you will get a wide range of views on every topic.  Its not a bad place to start learning.  However, groups are your best bet for meeting people, learning the skills, and becoming safety aware.

Take time to learn and understand what you really want. Have you read any books such as The Bottoming Book, Screw the Roses Send Me the Thorns, The Loving Dominant, SM 101? Reading those and others can give you a wide range of insight into various aspects of bdsm and help you find things you want that you may not have thought of even. Getting involved in your local scene ie groups, munches, get togethers, classes, parties is also a great way to learn, network, and make friends. The boards here can be good for learning things as well....you take what works from what you read and let the rest go, remembering that the views expressed are opinions and many based on that poster's personal experiences. Don't expect to find what you want online or quickly for that matter. Get out offline and experience things and again, take your time. I wish you all the best in your journey.

Well, if you have been reading the Mistress forums lately, they are bending over;  but the wrong way for what she's wanting, the fellers are hoping to catch her fart. 

I don't know.....hard to make a dime over there on that forum, even the good ones run pretty close to HNGs.

apparently the guys on this site e-mail every chick on here with no preference, just to get whatever they can. 
It's annoying when you run across a chick you might actually have something in common with, but when you read down there page it's complaining about the flood of e-mails they get.

As for everybody else, I appreciate the input and I think that some immediate clarification is needed on my part. First and foremost, I didn't mean for this to come out as a bitch and moan session about how things are not happening fast enough. That was not the intention of my posting. If you were to ask me what the intention of my posting was, then I would say the main subject is just my concerns over the skewed point of views that I have encountered regarding some of the subjects I have discussed in this thread.

However, I have read some of the points that you all have made, and I will definetly take the advice, especially concerning gratitious use of the block button for some of the people I don't agree with. In retrospect, I think that might be the best course of action.

MsKatHouston, did you mean to type in "FNG" or "HNG" I has a grasp on about 80% of the lingo on this board, so I need a little help there.

Thank you everybody for the advice. As for the ones with the quipy one-lines that you fired across the bow... well, those were pretty funny too so thanks for that also. :D

I will readily agree with the others; welcome to the boards!! It showed maturity and an open mind to consider the constructive criticism others had, digest it, admit, and grow from it.  Another poster was right, I imagine you definitely caught a few dommes' attention.  Go out and experience real life with the groups in your area; there are many more chances to truly get to know others and get to know each other much more intimately in face to face situations.
