Ah. That makes sense given that you had “Delete browsing history on exit” checked under Internet Options. Glad you got it working, kdsub! Hopefully the site will get around to a real fix of replacing the ancient code eventually. The photo button issue is actually purely tied to the collarme.com domain; settings for collarchat.com won’t affect it one way or the other. That said, enabling compatibility mode for collarchat.com may help IE 11 users with other, unrelated issues on the collarchat.com site, like the word wrap bug. For anyone else trying to deal with the issue, the steps I outlined in the video will work providing you don’t delete browsing history on exit. You will only need to follow them once. If, like kdsub, you clear your history on exit, things get a little bit trickier both because user-added Compatibly View settings get thrown out with the history and because the site seems to only detect the browser once, then continues to serve pages tailored to that detected browser for the duration of the session. So, if you visit collarme.com before re-enabling collarme.com in your Compatibility View settings, the compatibility setting won’t appear to have an effect until you close your existing session and force a new one. The following is a method that will work if you automatically delete history: - Close Internet Explorer
- Open Internet Explorer. IMPORTANT: Do NOT navigate to collarme.com yet!
- Go to Tools (Alt-X) > Compatibility View settings
- Manually type “collarme.com” (without the quotes) into the “Add this website:” field.
- Click the “Add” Button
- Make sure that “collarme.com” appears in the “Websites you’ve added to Compatibility View:” list.
- Click the “Close” button.
- Navigate to collarme.com; the photo buttons should work now.
You will need to repeat steps 2 through 8 once each time you close the browser.
