as did you, believe what trivial asswipe you want, you are wrong.

Bama isn't exactly wrong. I would have said the same thing. What we have here is "a failure to communicate" and a semantic type of disagreement. I've known for quite sometime revolvers can fail for various reasons, usually resulting in the cylinder *binding up*. It's happened to me as a result of unburned powder flakes from half ass reloads after firing 20 rounds or so. A slightly bent full moon or half moon clip in my S&W 25-2 will bind the cylinder too. I would have never called it a jam but if some experts are calling it that then my previous assumption stands corrected. I guess that makes sense, binding up is jamming up, is technically correct.

Edited to add:
But then again, if the cylinder is jammed, does that mean the whole freakin gun is jammed too ?

Don't just give us the sly but vacuous definition, give us the detail.

All bourbons are whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon.
(one of the things is that the mash has to be corn in 51% at least..........)

You have listed revolver malfunctions, not of which is a jam.
Assuming you have the firearm experience you claim you know that a jam is specifically when
a spent casing is improperly ejected resulting in either it or the next round being crosswise in
front of the chamber making the weapon unusable until cleared.
I have had this happen with autoloaders, once with a pump, once with a lever action, even with a bolt
action but never ever with a revolver since the spent round is not ejected.

mnottertail -> RE: Death penalty for being an asshole (2/12/2014 2:10:21 PM)

Hey, I said no vacuous, now I know that may be a challenge that you are not up to, but define exactly a jam....

We can all make titters at folks who say magazine clip or clip for magazine, but it is common slang in any case, now what is a jam technically?

make not only pistols but:
bolt action
semi auto
revolver
lever
pump

define in its entirety what a jam is.  because you can jam a revolver several ways.

mnottertail -> RE: Death penalty for being an asshole (2/12/2014 2:16:23 PM)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^LOLOLOLOL.
You now have outdone yourself for the stupidest post on the internet.

If the ejector is worn or bent and the bullet is not even clamped or improperly clamped for throwing out, making the next bullet not load, that is also a jam.   a jam may occur by dirty slides or weak recoil springs, which does not set the reciever block tight against the barrel, to clear those jams (like on a AR-16 one might rap the charging handle sharply twice after pulling it back, and thereby avoid dealing with disgruntled and disparaging drill instructors, and later on hit helps you from being killed)  But the shell need not lay crossways, it could cock or even end for end in the receiver area, and still be a jam. (you are killing yourownself here, btw)

But no, define jam, for each type, cuz you aint even 1/100th there yet. Assuming you have any knowledge of firearms whatsoever outside of wikipedia, which is looking awfully dicey right now.

Technical twatwaffle.

When my cam belt snaps, the engine ceases to turn correctly and very likely to smash valves, cams and maybe even snap the camshaft, amongst various other things.
Obviously, the car cannot be driven until the necessary parts are replaced.
Non-technical explanation: The fucking engine has blown up - it's fucked!!

Can't shoot a bullet, for whatever fucking reason: The gun has jammed - I can't shoot the fucker!!

So if the battery is dead it is fair to say the engine is blown?
That is the kind of logic you are using.

mnottertail -> RE: Death penalty for being an asshole (2/12/2014 2:26:01 PM)

There are no batteries on these revolvers or semiautos unless they are used for laser sightings.  Piss poor analogy.

Now I remember why I put you on hide for two weeks.

Nope. Not even close. Bad analogy.

I cant put you on hide, you are so hilariously inept in your foolish postings.  Its the guffaw factor.  And it is big.

So, anything that would sieze the cylinder up thru misalignment or wear or bending or like putting .357 shells in a .38 which does not clear the cylinder from advancing is a jam.  Anything that prevents the trigger from cocking the hammer (internal or external) is also a jam. The firing pin punching thru the cap and sticking in the brass (oh, I saw it once) is a jam.

Anyway, they can be jammed, you are wrong, you lose, take off your pants, and on to the next fantasy.

How then do you put yourself on hide, I mean; how does that work?

BamaD -> RE: Death penalty for being an asshole (2/12/2014 2:35:39 PM)

FR
I find it very interesting that the fact that Reeves was struck by something solid
is less important to many here than their insistence that a revolver can jam.

and yet you ignored my perfectly rational response to your claims
I wonder why that is....
people use jam...it jammed in the media outlets that carried it...and in videos.
being technical will come out in trial. One bullet came out, why did it jam after? or even malfunction after?

mnottertail -> RE: Death penalty for being an asshole (2/12/2014 2:42:40 PM)

Reeves was struck by something solid.  Thats sort of a given hah?

It is less important than the erroneous and continuing insistance by some who seem to have no knowledge of guns that revolvers cannot jam.

For the jam to be easily seen it would mean there was a malfunction in the feeding process.
There are numerous reasons this could happen, bad recoil spring, bad ammo, even rust.
None of this is truly relevant other than it does show that he didn't try to fire again.
A misfire or such from a revolver would have just led to him pulling the trigger again.
With a true jam that is with an automatic he would have been trying to clear the jam.
Thus it at least indicates the exact opposite of what polite started this phase of the conversation with,
that being that the jam PROVED he tried to shoot again.
What I find more interesting is that the video clearly show that Reeves was struck with something
other than or in addition to the popcorn. Tape isn't clear but he is struck with something compact
With a bright light in the middle. This is consistent with his claim (according to the reporter)
that he was hit with Oulsens cell phone.

Most people I know don't carry their weapon in their pocket and that goes for retired and active police and military.

Maybe you should Google "pocket holster", they've become rather popular.

Also, if you carry on a regular basis, you'll know that sitting with a holstered gun isn't very comfortable, especially if you're going to be sitting through a 2+ hour long movie. I can see taking a pistol out of a holster and sticking it in a pocket till the movie was over.
