It's interesting because a lot of places seemingly design their food to make it easy to eat on the run. When I worked as a courier, it was often so busy that there was literally no time to sit down and eat. A lot of people pick up something at the drive-through window and eat while they're driving.
But some sandwiches can be relatively clean and easy to eat with one's hands. I can't see eating a PB&J with a knife and fork.
