I'm very competitive. Once in a new Yoga class I was, of course, glancing at the woman next to me just to make sure my poses were better, that I stretched farther, etc. halfway through the class, the instructor tapped me on the shoulder, leaned down and whispered "yoga is not a competitive sport, dear". I was like. Wtf?? EVERYTHING is a competitive sport!!

I practice yoga in my house now.

I'm also a kickass, take no prisoners tennis player.

We are SO alike!! I remember typing class in high school (yeah...back then we called it typing and not "keyboarding" and it was taught on a TYPEWRITER). I would count the "dings" of the girl next to me I HAD to have more than her.

One of my honest reasons against poly is that I am so competitive that I would HAVE to prove constantly that I could "outplay, out survive , out fuck..." Any other sub that I would never relax.

FR

I always liked individual sports and always practised them at agonistic level. Never liked team sports because I don't like the "pack effect" and other things. By the way I always related in a very positive way with my opponents as I see a competition a way to play with them trying to reach a common goal and sharing a common interest. I don't get uspet if I loose, if someone don't try to win... this would piss me off.

I like what littlewonder said in both her posts.....she said exactly how I feel about competition. I just never understood it....I never got anything out of it. I never liked playing in any sports for just that reason. Whenever I DO play in any sports, it's always just among family and close friends, and I find myself cheering them and the opposing team just as much as might be for myself or my team. I like to see everyone "win" simply for having fun in playing the game itself.

Like she said: "I guess it's because not much in life is important enough to me to matter. " To me it's just a game, and when it's over....nothing has changed.

I am however a "little" competitive with myself in that I will remember how I did something in the past and then try my best to do it even better the next time. Like when I'm in school....I get an 85% and subconsciously I have it in my mind that I need to get a higher score on the next test.
