I have just one question:
Why is the furball on the table and not locked in the cage underneath it or outside?? [:-]

I don't give compliments for the sake of it, I only compliment when I am really awed by something. I don't tell every man they are gorgeous for example. Unless he really took my breath away, so anyway, I realise it does vary from guy to guy, but I don't think men like hearing it as much as I enjoy hearing it coming from a man, complimenting me.
I wasn't implying that you were, just a admonition to those who might be tempted.

Also, most men are somewhat concerned with "losing face" and tend react with "humility" to "flattery", lest you are being built up just to let you down.

;-)

SoulAlloy -> RE: Do men like compliments? (1/23/2014 7:59:13 AM)

I don't mind compliments, though I never really thought of them as being compared to another lol (will be extra paranoid of compliments in future now [8D] )

They don't turn me on, but I do sometimes take them as cues to accentuate what they like in future

I'm often guilty of doing that modesty thing too and downplaying compliments given to me...

sexyred1 -> RE: Do men like compliments? (1/23/2014 8:03:53 AM)

Why wouldn't men like compliments as much as women?

All people like flattery? Why would they be suspicious?

I mean I do understand the old "you are the best I ever had" or "your cock is huge" (and you know it is average), that I get.

But sincere compliments are great, for anyone.

I brag to my friends about him
...
Women be wise,
keep your mouth shut,
don't advertise your man
Don't sit around, holding no conversations,
explaining what your good man really can do
Some women nowadays,
Lord they ain't no good
They will laugh in your face,
Then try to steal your man from you
Women be wise,
keep your mouth shut,
don't advertise your man

I feel everyone likes compliments to some degree. And how people take them can be in a variety of ways. A simple Thank You is the prefered way for me.

I've seen nicey nicey people use compliments way to much and that brings out the snark in me. It looks like sucking up to me.

I give very few compliments. They have to wow me and I must feel sincere about them. I can be hard to impress at times.

If my SO can be lured away by another woman, they can have him. He's a grown man, I have faith in his ability to control himself.

That is, without a doubt, the loudest, most demanding cat in the world, and the protests would be unreal if I were to stick her in the cage. Also, she's assisting with my patho studying.

D: It's not broken, (just messy). He made it so I'd have somewhere to study downstairs.... But I'm still waiting on a better stool.

Because men think differently to women.
Women accept a compliment for what it is.
Men tend to be very suspicious about compliments.

Ummm... nope.

Because a lot of men just are.

Maybe. But not everyone thinks the same way.

I've actually been told that men don't like to hear compliments about their body parts, because it brings their thoughts into the arena of how many other men has this woman been with and comparing with and it becomes buzz kill.

Maybe it was the way you (or someone) gave the compliment.

Good: "OMG I loooooove your cock."

Bad: "Of all the cocks I've seen, yours is the best."

As a general social rule, men receive compliments much less often than women. If you tell a man he's handsome, he'll remember it for 20 years. Not exaggerating. So it's a powerful tool. Just be sure it's "all about him," not him in relation to other men who have been inside your body.

"Your cock rates a 9/10 on my dick database. Nice job!"

I told a 50 yr old man that he was the most gorgeous man I ever seen and he looks at me like I've been screwing toads or something to even think his handsome. And to put everything into context, he gave me compliments on my looks first, infact, he complimented me on alot of things, I was "star struck" by his looks but was thinking in my head if should I or should I not tell him! And then I figured since he was generous with compliments, I assume he would like compliments too, but um...., no...

But I was getting like breathless over his looks, and he was reducing me to like a teenager with a crush on justin bieber or something, and his justin bieber(not saying he looks like that, because he does not!) I truly thought he was freaking godly handsome!! And I have been with many good looking men nearer to my age, but there is good looking that is generic, like Brad Pitt or David Beckham, whom both I don't find attractive at all, and then there is like, OMG, literally, the kind of look I only fantasize about! Which was him! He looks like Ryu from Street Fighter, the real life version!

I'll agree with that last statement. While I don't mind compliments, there's a certain point when I get suspicious of the actual intent behind it. Maybe I'm just jaded, but if someone (even an attractive woman) compliments me too much, my radar starts going off.

I tend to go for Doms who can be praised extravagantly, like dragons.

(If you're not a fan of dragon fiction, this will likely not make sense to you.)

I mean compliments about their looks, belly, legs, arms, cock whatever, basically sexualised compliments about themselves? How about compliments about their performance in bed and what wonderful lovers they are, or how good they are in a specific sexual skill?

Do they and what type of compliments do men like to hear?

I've actually been told that men don't like to hear compliments about their body parts, because it brings their thoughts into the arena of how many other men has this woman been with and comparing with and it becomes buzz kill.

You've been told wrong.
Men like compliments like everyone else...cuz you know, despite rumors to the contrary, we are human too
