I'm getting a little collection of toys (sadly just for myself), and I've been eyeing sensory deprivation hoods. It's a really old fetish of mine, getting encased, feeling helpless, dependent... I think they're a neat looking toy. But I'm kind of wondering if they're safe/a good idea in general for a mostly inexperienced person to use alone?

Does anyone have any experience/tips for me?

Sensory deprivation is very common fetish. Wearing a sensory deprivation hood in and by itself is not dangerous. I actually like to sleep in one from time to time.

I would not recommend locking one on or being self bound while wearing one on the off chance of some emergency (like a fire or something). But just wearing a sensory deprivation hood really is not a big risk.
