Now, I've memorised Rex Harrison's part in this as a party piece. Though I say it myself, I can do a pretty good impression of Rex in this. However, not once, in all England, have I found anyone who could do Colonel Pickering's part. He doesn't do much, but what he does is crucial.

So, anyone, from anywhere at all - even females, and non-British females at that - who think they can do Wilfred Hyde-White's bit?

If so, send me an audio. Damnit, this needs to be done.

Come on. Anybody can do Wilfred's part. You just need a slightly different plum in your mouth to that of Rex. Granted, if you're female, you're better off waiting till you've got laryngitis, or at least a heavy head cold. But it could work.

Peon..........I had a friend quite a few years ago when I lived in Surrey. At that time he was Tony Munster but would now be Lord Munster I would guess. He was as mad as a meat-axe and worked as a carpenters offsider on building sites etc. His accent would be right-on for Wilfreds I would reckon, which used to sound really strange when he would come into my restaurant with the whole gang of carpenters, who spoke like Eliza's dad (Stanley Holloway) and him talking like Wilfred.
