I know the weather has been topic of many conversations, but this isnt about AGW Or climate change or even bitching about the weather,
I wanted to share some pics Ive come across, how freaking magnificent nature is when you look at it close up with a camera.
im sick with bad case of bronchits and not going out today cos its blowing a gale out there. shivers.
Fish froze in mid-swim in their shoal near Lovund, a small island just a few miles from the northern shores of the Norway mainland. It was only -7 degrees, but the wind chill was cold enough to freeze a large amount of fish in place. It is believed that the fish were being chased by a predator, which made them group in huge numbers.
A car door handle snaps off during extreme freezing temperatures.
Our car was covered in about 2 1/2 inches of clear ice, and we couldnt get the door handle to move let alone pull up to rip it off.
another one at niagara, Im gonna be going thru there next week, if its as cold then, Im gonna be taking pictures:) not as good as these tho
A lighthouse is encased in ice after a blizzard on Lake Michigan
It's an amazing natural sight at Abraham Lake with the Frozen bubbles under the ice. The explanation of the rare phenomenon is, “The plants on the lake bed release methane gas and methane gets frozen once coming close enough to the much colder lake surface and they keep stacking up below once the weather gets colder and colder during [the] winter season.”
