This morning I was reading something that said that this year it will be 20 (yes..TWENTY) years since Kurt Cobain committed suicide, "The Lion King" was first in movie theaters, and "Friends" was first on TV. Damn stuff like this makes me feel OLD!! But it also reminded me of something else that I find interesting....even if it also makes me feel pretty old......
"Each August since 1998, Beloit College has released the Beloit College Mindset List, providing a look at the cultural touchstones that shape the lives of students entering college this fall. Prepared by Beloit’s former Public Affairs Director Ron Nief and Keefer Professor of the Humanities Tom McBride, the list was originally created as a reminder to faculty to be aware of dated references. It quickly became an internationally monitored catalog of the changing worldview of each new college generation."
So actually, the current list was published last summer in reference to the freshmen students who were entering in Sept 2013

I think the older lists are more interesting....maybe because they describe the things that I am most familiar (Did I mention that I feel old?)
