I have been cheated out of a life and lifestyle by some one and I want to know who it is!
First Philip K. Dick assured me that this was going to happen:
1982- June 26 to be precise, an asteroid large enough to screw up the climate but not large enough to wipe out the entire human population was to hit the Pacific ocean.
I want to know who changed its trajectory!
Because this did not happen, we did not get the Esper computers, hyperdrives space craft, replicants and of course, no one became blade runners. Granted 40% of the human population was not wiped out in 82, but still.
Then Isaac Asimov promised that in the early nineties we would have positronic robots, and by now we would have personal robots in the home. US Robotics were supposed to develop the positronic brain by 1989.
Of course Roddenberry told us that in the mid 90's the Eugenics wars would break out, nearly destroying the human race, and by 2010 Singh Khan would have left earth on the Botany Bay, we should have various warlords trying to control Europe and Asia and Cochran should be working on the warp drive.
Granted, the predictions of Phillip K. Dick and Roddenberry would have been more challenging (I would make a good Blade Runner) or in Roddenberry's version, I would have made a small fortune as a merc, might have managed becoming a warlord.
Yup, someone cheated me out of a life that would be far less boring.
