I thought that was Fatty Arbuckle.

That Allen married his g/f's adopted daughter Soon-Yi is fact. Whether or not he molested his adopted daughter Dylan depends on who you read. I'm leaning for yes, he did. Not just b/c he married Soon-Yi, I found Dylan's letter very believable.

If you disbelieve it, you have to think Mia Farrow used her daughter to malign her ex, some thing people splitting up do (unfortunately). It's fairly easy to manipulate an 8 year old, but it's been over 20 years, it's hard to believe Mia could keep the manipulation going, assuming she wanted to.

So after reading several times that she wasn't his daughter in any way, shape or form, you're going to go ahead and repeat the lie anyway. Nice.

Fatty Arbuckle was fat.

Woody Allen is skinny.

Other than that, way too many similarities for my tastes. Such as the reports from the mental health people who interviewed Dylan and noted that everything was couched in terms of how evil Woody had destroyed Mom's career as a great actress. Or the multiple pauses in the tape made by Mia that strongly suggest coaching. Or the staff who testified that details given by Mia and Dylan about that day were not seen by them... like Dylan being out of sight for more than 5 minutes.

I could be wrong but I'm almost positive that the accusations came before the actual marriage to Sun Yi (I think that's her name).

I think it went:

1) Relationship in trouble
2) Separation/accusation of relationship with step-daughter and child abuse of the other
3) confirmation of said fucked-up relationship
4) Marriage to Sun Yi

I'm talking about how the stories broke in the MSM.

To my memory, when the accusations of child abuse came out, I remember saying: "Typical modern American divorce/an attempt to secure child custody. Nothing to see here. Move along."

Then, when he confirmed the relationship with the step-daughter, I took him at his word that he was one fucked-up piece of shit.

As I said, earlier; I was never really a fan of his movies but I had two of his books and they were quite funny. I even put on a production of a short, two-act play of his in High School.

Plus, I don't CARE if he and Mia were never married. I don't care that they share no genetic material. As Mia's long time companion, her children should have been off-limits.

I've lost respect for Morgan Freeman for the same reason.

Everybody is someone's son or daughter. He married a grown woman, whom he had no role in raising, there was no 'the daughter' in the Soon-Yi/Woody relationship.

Being offended by cradle robbers is one thing, but I'll note that Mia had no moral qualms about hooking up with a 50 something Sinatra when she was the same age as Soon-Yi, and her benefactor Roman Polanski did likewise with a far younger teen, so the hypocrisy from their corner reeks of Hollywood Confidential to me...

If Woody did that bad act on Dylan as she claims, and he ever admits to it, then he should be getting a Lifetime Oscar Achievement award, for the great acting job that he pulled off all these years.

I am not going to comment on Woody Allen's marrying Soon Yi, which to be honest kind of creeped me out, but I also think you have to be very careful with allegations of abuse, given how angry Mia Farrow is with Woody Allen, there is a lot of reason to pause and wonder about the allegations. Mia herself hasn't exactly been totally sane, and I believe that one of her kids, Ronan, came about from an affair with Frank Sinatra when she was divorced from him and married to Andre Previn.....not saying Woody Allen is a saint or that something may have in fact happened, but I also am suspicious of the motive here. Note that I generally am the last person to doubt accounts of child abuse, I am married to the victim of horrific abuse at the hands of a parent, but in this case I have reason to take pause and wonder if this is real or if it was cooked up to get back at Woody. I don't think the daughter is lying, but I also think that it is possible that for years mama might have worked on the daughter until the point where she believes firmly she was abused.

Ok, 50 year old starts dating a 19 year old then marries her when she is 21. Not common but it happens.

Too bad they didn't try and acquit Allen when the accusations first came out and his vindictive girlfriend (not wife) started making accusations. As it was deemed there was insufficient evidence to prosecute on the child abuse accusation it left things in limbo.

Too bad libel and slander are so hard to sue for.
