I have always been a prolific writer so I began "journaling" on my profile almost immediately upon joining. Mostly I do it as a outlet for my thoughts. I really do not care who reads it and I am not looking to enflame, entertain...so it is pretty boring

How many people use the journal feature? Do you use it with the intent that you expect others to read (some people seem to be advertising what cities they will be in and looking for clients, some use it to vent...some to do creative writing) or is it just a place to put down those mental musings that make no sense to anyone but yourself?

Ahoy, fellow journaler!

I've occasionally made journal entries about all kinds of stuff since I got here several years ago. It ranges from lifestyle-related stuff including a little primer on electro, personal fears, triumphs and revelations, fact-based creative writing about meaningful events, recipes...you name it, it's probably on there if you go back far enough.

I put them up mostly as a diary, and somewhat to give people an inside view of who I am. Some people actually read it; I occasionally get comments about the entries. It's also interesting to look back at what was going on a few years ago. It's fun!

Glad to see you enjoy writing! Keep up the good work! <pops over to TMIK's journal for a gander>

I also use the journal feature, and I make occasional posting on all sorts of things, usually my feelings or thoughts on something. Sometimes I find myself writing more often, but the subjects are all pretty random. I once wrote a post on the late-night jelly donut I'd just eaten. I like to think that as the poster above said, it might be able to give someone an inside view of who I am. But I also don't really care who reads it or not. I just like to get my thoughts out.

If y'all want to know what's going on in my mind, all y'all are gonna have to pay the $3.50 per month local cable access fee; just like everyone else!

I use it, and I'm always surprised when I get a message commenting on something I wrote. I figured it's rare that anyone reads a profile - much less the journal entries.

I haven't used the journal function yet but I have been giving it consideration.

Just a place to jot down my thoughts on anything and everything . . . one voice out of seven billion shouting in defiance, "I am here! I am here!"

I only use it when I change something on my profile. I keep a journal, but it's for my eyes only.

I used to write in it a lot. But I haven't in a while.

I have always thought of a journal being very much like a diary, just trying to use a less "young girl" kind of term. Since I would share my diary witht the masses, neither would I share journal writings.

I do a lot of writing but would only share my polished material.

I write down some mental musings. Nothing to long or rambling.

And I don't put anything negative. It just comes across as whining.

The first 80 or so words of your latest journal show in the preview screen and so the CM journal is not a real journal but part of how you market yourself to others. I wrote my journal entries with this in mind.

Occasionally I'll put something in it, a writing I did I liked particularly, or a note that the munch is on and I'm heading that way

Don't really use it for personal journaling, have occasionally vented on it and then deleted a day or two later

I don't really use it beyond random thoughts. I view journaling as introspection and have found when you do that here, some people comment on something that I didn't want comments on. If I don't want it discussed, I don't put it out there for public consumption.

Yes! Posting from my phone I can't see the whole window I'm typing in, and moving around is a huge pain in the ass.

Thanks for letting me know.

So everyone, to read the CORRECT version of what I said, I guess you need to read kalikshama's post, lol.

I use the journal feature here and I enjoy reading other journals. I think it's a good way to let people know more about you. I usually write whenever something is on my mind and I want to "vent" it a bit. I've written about things that have triggered a deep emotional response for me, some about D/s and being submissive, and some about totally vanilla everyday things. I also like to break things up with a little humor once in awhile.

I also like to read other journals because sometimes it gives me a bit of an ice-breaker when I am interested in starting a conversation and getting to know someone better.

I rarely use my journal here except for when I find something like a quote I like that I think the morons on the other side should read or when I have something really sarcastic to say...again, to the morons on the other side.

I am prolific, though not as varied as I could be.

I have an audience, I write for myself but post what I think others may appreciate. The rest is somewhere else.
