In the last 9 days, we in the heartland of Texas has had some really weird weather.

Last Monday, it was ice which carried over until tuesday.

Wednesday it actually hit 75.

Thursday, a 2 inch snow storm that shut the town down, closed schools, closed doctor's offices and a dentists offices.

Saturday, 70.

Sunday 45

Today, Freezing rain, and the town is starting to close down.

Thursday and today are the two events I have developed a theory about.

If some of you may recall, last November my nephew, Damian, was in the hospital with a spider bite that got infected with staph. After he was released, he had to go to the wound care center every other day to have the packing removed, and the cavity repacked. A very painful experience I have had a couple of times.

Thursday, snow, Damian had two doctor's appointments, one was his two year check up, the second a dentist.

Today, ice, slick roads, Damian has a 9 o'clock appointment for his 2 year check up with his pediatrician.

Coincidence? I think not!

I believe that my nephew has been studying the arcane arts of alchemy and sorcery.

Hehehehe...now if he can end the drought, we would know for sure.

Sounds like you're having Colorado weather in Texas.

LOL....I remember back in the winter of 1978-1979 we had a pretty healthy amount of snow from several storms. The funny thing was they were always timed for when my grandmother made HER doctor's appointments.

It got to the point where it was a family joke that we (my then adolescent/teenage siblings) started BEGGING her to make her appointment on a Monday so we would just have a 3 day weekend.

We're having below zero temps with major wind chill coupled with lots of snow, very few are laughing here.

We are getting constant freezing drizzle. The roads dont look bad, but are slicker than leather soled shoes on a freshly waxed floor. It is four miles from my house to Damian's doctor. In that stretch, six wrecks were being worked, only two cars were on their tires, just the drivers tried to test that law of physics about two objects occupying the same point in space.

In South Florida gentle breezes stir the palms. Please be sure Damien stays in Texas [:D]

IF I could take control of HARP (given the conspiracy theories) I would arrange for gentle breezes (40 knots) to stir the palms and plenty of liquid sunshine.

The year my daughter was in first grade, we had major snow events 16 times. I had to take her to the pediatrician for ear infections 14 of those times. I got really good at driving in snow.
