I'm in snob county...I mean Cobb County lol. It's still snowing as I type this. We still have power but it's super cold. Take care .

<MDA slinks off ashamed of 74 degree weather>

I wish everyone safety and good luck.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the boy who was lost. [:(]

I am from Cobb and still there......the entire county isn't snobbish, just East Cobbers![:D]

Hope ya made it though. It was gorgeous when I woke up, seems that a couple inches of snow topped the ice. No loss of power for me, so I guess the worst is over.

Now bring on the temps to melt it. I have had enough winter!

Shame you had to wait until the weather got ugly before making your first post. But welcome.

Yeah, you Georgia folks aren't really up to weather this nasty. We are here in Colorado, but we still complain about it when it happens.

theshytype -> RE: Ice Ice Baby (2/13/2014 4:43:30 AM)

Here in Michigan, we are usually complaining about this "stupid white crap".
We might freak out less from snow, ice, or cold but only because we're used to it. We (well, not all) hate it.
I know how much it sucks, especially when accompanied by power outages. Hope it'll be over very soon for everyone. This winter has been horrendous.

To sum it up, I give you:

Dear Diary......
August 12--- Moved to our new home in Michigan. It is so Beautiful here. The forests are
so majestic. Can hardly wait to see snow covering the trees!

October 14--- Michigan is the most beautiful place on earth. The leaves have turned all the
colors and shades of red and orange. Went for a ride through the beautiful forest and saw
some deer. They are so graceful, certainly they are the most wonderful animal on earth.
This must be paradise. I love it here!

November 11--- Deer season will start soon. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to kill such a
gorgeous creature. Hope it will snow soon. Love it here!

December 2--- It snowed last night. Woke up to find everything blanketed with white. It
looks like a postcard. We went outside and cleaned the snow off the steps and shoveled
the driveway. We had a snowball fight and I won! When the snowplow came by we had to
shovel the driveway again. What a beautiful place, I love Michigan!

December 12--- More snow last night. I love it. The snowplow did his trick again to the driveway. I love it here!

December 19--- More snow last night. Couldn’t get out of the driveway to go to work. I
am exhausted from shoveling. Frigging snowplow.

December 22--- More white shit fell last night. I got blisters on my hands from the
shoveling. I think the snowplow hides around the curve and waits until I’m done shoveling
the driveway. Assholes!

December 25--- Merry frigging Christmas, more frigging snow. If I ever get my hands on
the son-of-a-bitch who drives that snowplow, I swear I’ll kill the bastard. Don’t know
why they don’t use more salt on the road to melt the frigging ice.

December 27--- More white shit fell last night. Been inside for 3 days except for shoveling
out the driveway after that snowplow goes through every time. Can’t go anywhere, car’s
stuck in a mountain of white shit! The weather man said to expect another 10 inches of the
white shit again tonight. Do you know how many shovels full of snow 10 inches is?

December 28--- The frigging weather man was wrong. We got 34 inches of the white shit
this time. At the rate it won’t melt before next summer. The snowplow got stuck up the
road and that bastard came to the door and asked to borrow my shovel. After I told him I
had broken 6 shovels already shoveling all the shit he pushed into the driveway, I broke
my last shovel over his frigging head.

January 4--- Finally got out of the house today. We went to the store to get food and on
the way back a damned deer ran in front of the car and I hit it. Did about $3,000.00 worth
of damage to the car. Those frigging beasts should be killed. Wish the hunters had killed
all of them last November!

May 3--- Took the car to the garage in town. Would you believe the thing is rusting out
from all the frigging salt they put all over the road?

May 10--- Moved to Florida. I can’t imagine why anyone in their right mind would ever live in Michigan!

HAHAHAhAhahahaha

50???? I assume that's in F.
That converts to 10C - pretty average for us over here.

Cold??? Nah... it's normal.

Reminds of when I was living in FL for a while and was sitting on my friend's front lawn in shorts and T-shirt fixing the lights on his xmas decorations.
Well.... it was over 70F and I was sweltering and sweating like mad.
Everyone that walked past me was wrapped up in heavy coats, scarves, boots and hats and looked at me as if I'd suddenly grown two heads..... Mad Englishman!! [:D]

WTF are you going to do when it gets COLD???

AlexisANew -> RE: Ice Ice Baby (2/13/2014 7:02:24 AM)

We've had a lot of snow. 1/2 meter yesterday and another 1/2 meter today. 4 meters in all so far. The downhill skiing is great with all this new powder!.

Minus 20C at night along with some scary ice storms. We have icicles on our roof overhang which have to be 8 inches in diameter and 3ft in length. The sky is an azure blue each day but the ground warms up which puts us on constant avalanche alert.

Everything goes on as normal though. Schools are all open, everyone manages to get to work, no power lines are down (touch wood). Getting over the passes are difficult though. Any vehicles without snow tyres or chains get turned back.
