I lived in both Chertsey and Windsor for a while and recognise some of the pics of places that I see. Damn, we both hope you are all fine and come through this okay too.

I'm fine and dandy in Bristol City. The flood barriers here are good and, anyway, I'm halfway up a steep hill.

The house I was born in, in Shepperton, is flooded, I've just discovered.

Fortunately, I'm 10 miles up the road from here and live on a hill 450ft above sea level.

Oooh, I'd keep a close eye on that hole. At some point tonight, zombies are going to come out of it. Or witches, or demons and stuff. Whatever, it's *definitely* a gateway to Hell. We need a British super-heroine - preferably a small blonde teenager with a stupid name who's brilliant at karate, wears too much make up and sounds like a duck when she talks.

I have friends in Bucks, so if anybody can give me any information about what's happening re: the storms and floods in the areas around Chalfont St Peter, Little Chalfont and Gerrards Cross, I would be mightily obliged.
If you live in that area, give my regards to the 'Peter Pan' of Chalfont St Peter.

Well, hell might soon freeze over, didn't you hear that her first action when ending up there, was to switch off a bunch of furnaces? Since she's been there for a while, it's possibly a damned cold place. Trust her to ruin just about everything...

There are various maps on the BBC weather website, Dvr, but, to be honest, you're better off emailing your friends. It's pretty much beyond the meteorological services here to predict anywhere near exactly what's going to happen and where. Even if they know how much wind and rain is going to hit this or that area, they don't know how saturated the ground already is. It's that, as well as the height above sea level - obviously - that will dictate how badly flooded a given area is going to be.

I'm sorry Lady C, yes, you did say earlier how it was up there. I'm afraid to admit that since you're only female, I didn't take much notice of what you actually said, preferring instead to scrutinise your avatar closely and wonder what your chest would look like naked.

Poor Alfie. Is he OK? Does the strong wind frighten your dogs?

Good old Huw - I hope he's OK. I shall forever thank him for buying me my first ever pickled egg!

Good friends of ours have lost their 7 year old son due to the floods. They live very close to the Thames and the house has been flooded since January. He was the most adorable, cute and well brought up little boy. Father is still seriously ill in hospital and the mother is in a total state of shock.

No cause of death yet so hard to tell exactly how it relates to the flood.

Oh hell. I'm sorry, Susie. Was this the case in the news - the one where they're suspecting some kind of poisoning by something toxic in the flood water? That was horrific to read about.

Thanks PFH...........I just got news from them that the lower part of Chalfont St Peter is not only flooded but to add to their misery, the sewers have overflowed and the place is also swimming in raw sewage. Not a nice prospect.
I hope you all come through it okay and we both send you all our best wishes.
