Well it looks like its gonna be official. Americans are going to get a new Federal inposed identification card that will need to be shown in order to gain employment in the USA. Employers who employ anyone with out the card will be fined and their assetts frozen and business licences taken away. The Magnet as those in Congress and the House call it will be in essance turned off so that the illigals will no longer have access to the incomes that attracts them to cross the boarders. Of course this will not affect any of the Cartels that do not even deal with the little mans need to work but deals with transport over the line with guns, drugs, live human cargo which could include terrorists who pay the highest prices. I wonder what the Government will do to turn off that Magnets capabilities.....Opinions ?...JMO

This is why I wouldn't get involved in the immigrant debate, I thought it was a cover for implementing something that most Americans would be against, like a Federal identification card. They push our hot buttons and we go along like sheeple.,..I do not want or need a federal identification card to make me feel safe.

It is simply a waste of more money.  For fucks sake MistressDread, we have americans all the time running all over the world telling everybody how america is the greatest country on earth and everybody else is stupid, seems to me it is easy enough to pick them out to shoot them that way and save the third world countries money so they don't have to get little electronic devices to set off the chips in 'em.....

What you have no papers that is un american it is to the camps for you.  What are they going to do when they have forged Id badges given to them by their own government.  Remember out sourcing labor to the us is mexico's number one industry.  Will they require us to get barcode tattoo's?  No that is to old tech I know!  Coded microchip inbedded under the skin at birth.  It is just one more step into makeing us government cattle.  If your papers arn't in order off you go to never bee seen again.

"It wouldn't be a national ID card — not really. The Department of Transportation, acting on instructions from Congress, has begun work with states to develop electronically smarter drivers' licenses that can be checked for validity across the country, and that have more than just than that always-awful picture — like a fingerprint or retinal-scan imprint — to match the card to its holder. "

"One way or another, New Hampshire will soon again lead the nation. It may set the standard for protection of freedom, civil liberties and privacy. Or it may become a premier example of how a state legislature turns into a servant of the federal government.
On the side of freedom is the state House of Representatives. In March it passed a bill prohibiting the New Hampshire government from participating in the U.S. national ID card system. "

We wouldn't need a card like this if some states weren't giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

Its a step.  It takes Me on average three months to verify an employees Identification from the government. Do they think Ill wait three months to do a job while they get their act together and return the results so I know if I can use a worker or not ? And when We use tempt services its even a bigger issue as well.  Being able to just look at a card and say go to work would be wonderful. Not to mention take off the threats laying over Our heads in accidentally hiring illigals when the persons being hired have duped paperwork that We havent a clue if is real or fake untill the government comes back and says yea or nay and We have to worry that Our businesses can be and would be shut down fined and Our assetts frozen.

I agree EString, but just like Me as a business owner these illegals have paperwork that even fool
the drivers licenses places, hell they pop up with birth certificates that your mother would think is yours outta her hands.
Its big business in the billions of dollars the people who feed off of the illigals providing them the ability to function as an illigal in another land. How can Us regular smooz compete ?

Hold it a second. Are you all delusional?

You have 12 Million people here illegally. Currently everyone already has a US National ID required for work. It's called a Social Security card. It's virtually worthless because it's easily copied and there is no centralized verification source. US money has changed to cut down on forgery. Your banks in some cases use finger print verification. All credit cards have your personal information embedded in the magnetic strip. If you use your cell phone you are broadcasting and your location can be easily determined. Google your name and you'll find out how public your private life is. Pay a service $50 and you can get a print out of your past.

I doubt many are living "off the grid". It's long overdue that the US had a national ID card.

Excluding the "what have you got to hide?" argument.  What is your alternative solution to insure and verify a person is qualified to work as a US citizen or LEGAL immigrant worker?

can you say United Socialist States of America? because that 's where it's leading to ...you think the passage of the Patriot Act I & II was a fluke without any of your elected representatives and senators reading the damn things? essentially and basically - there is NO US Constitution and/or Declaration of Independence anymore. your civil rights have been clipped - want to hold a protest in Chicago ...you need to file and get an approved permit by a judge. freedom of press - HA! only what the government allows them to say and print. freedom of speech - you're consider a traitor if you 're not agreeing with the president and his policies. police entering without search warrants and/or probable cause, illegal wiretaps and listening devices now legal without a judge's stamp - sounds all too familiar ...just like Communist Soviet Union.
so my comrades, learn how to speak and act like proper good amerikans or it's off to the camps for you.

Why are you people worried about the govt. having information on you?
Do you realize that private marketing companies have FAR more information on you and about you than the govt could ever hope to?

Well, all the Government has to do is get access to those databases............

Besides, private companies can't really do anything but spam me till the end of days....

Good Dog, the govt can't either unless you've done something wrong.

Ask on these forums who considers what wrong, and you will get any number of answers.  Just as you would if you asked the governments of the world, the senators of the US of A, or the people at Guantanamo Bay.

Yours,

benji

A few years ago, when i was doing HR work, one of the forms new employees filled out was an I-9, which is "named" The Employment Eligibility Verification.  On a government website this is the description:  "All U.S. employers are responsible for completion and retention of Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the United States. This includes citizens and noncitizens. On the form, the employer must verify the employment eligibility and identity documents presented by the employee and record the document information on the Form I-9. Acceptable documents are listed on the back of the form, and detailed below under "Special Instructions."

i had to keep copies of either their passport, or two other forms of ID, such as the state ID/Drivers License and social security card.  The kicker is, of course, is that the form isn't sent anywhere -- just placed in the employee's file, subject to audit by the feds.  i've never seen or heard of anyone actually doing this kind of audit, but..my point is, the forms are already in place, all nice and legal and okayed by the feds.  What's wrong with making the employer actually send copies to some department or other (although i'd hate the idea since we all know how "trustworthy" the feds are--NOT..lol.

i supposed the biggest problem with this idea is that it might actually make some sense and save the taxpayers some money.   i honestly don't have the foggiest idea how to solve the problem of 12+ million illegal immigrants, but it seems to me that enforcing laws already on the books might be a good place to start.

just my 2 cents worth..

cheers
jimini
