Just one dumb question.....except for the position of the athlete's body....what's the difference between "skeleton" and "luge"?

The sled.

The luge sled has much larger runners. The skeleton sled is very minimal, the name comes from it being "bony" in appearance.

I agree....although I do think it might be kind of fun to do just once ......just not as freaking fast!!! I heard that the skeleton riders go around 80 mph.....holy crap that nuts....I think it would be need to ride one of those at maybe half that speed....or a bit less!
