There I was at the local indoor range with their in house gunsmith zeroing a new scope when in the lane next to me was this very attractive petite (90 pounds soaking wet holding two cinder blocks) who had rented the lane and a fully automatic AK.

I listened as the instructor proceeded to give the safety instructions as well as telling her how to hold the weapon and stand in a braced position.

He had her fire a couple of rounds on semi to get the feel of the recoil, then stepped back and let her cut loose.

Now the AK, like many automatic weapons tend to climb if you do the spray and pray and just hold the trigger on full auto...

Now, there is a term in motorcycle riding as well as driving known as whiskey throttle, where a panicked individual just cant take their foot off the gas or let go of the throttle on the bike.

Today I witnessed "whiskey trigger." And I never thought anyone could scream louder than an AK on full auto.

She sprayed the target, the ceiling, and took out four lights before the mag emptied.

I do hope the range posts the video of this young woman on their website, if they do I will be providing a link, posting it on face book, you tube, tumblr, I will even join social networking sites to get the video out.

Any particular reason you're getting the word out? Was it just pretty darn funny?

It was beyond funny.

Not because it was a girl, or that she had an attitude, but over the sound of gunfire you could hear her screaming "Make it Stop!"

I have seen her at the range plenty of times and she is a damn fine shot, and has even fired a S&W 500 with no problems.

I have a friend who's built about the same way, and she has shot a .44 magnum on more than one occasion. I cringe when I see a man who's shopping with a woman try to put her into something very small and small-caliber because "she's a woman and women are weak and scare easily". I try to politely suggest that she find something that will fit, be operable by her, and pleasant for her to shoot.

I mean, if it's going to be your gun, find something that will work for YOU. Not something that someone told you to settle for... There's a saying about dogs in fights and one about wills and ways that come to mind.

ETA: What the hell, Jeff? I thought you lived in TX, and had some land. What are you doing going to a range for chrissakes?

We have a number of ladies in our club, and one comes to mind right away. At present, she' on the Junior Rifle team, but I saw her at a casual shoot at one of the other ranges. She was shooting a .357, not quite in .44 maggie territory, but close. This kid looks she'd blow away in a stiff breeze, but she was chunkin' lead like a trooper with it. And Jeff, "Whiskey Trigger" would make a great name for a CW band. I'm betting the range officer coaching her is in deep shit over letting her do a runaway.

New rifle, new scope and it gives me a reason to look at all the new toys they have gotten since the last time I been there.

That and the owner is an old army buddy of mine.

Kinda, but in his defense, considering what she has shot, I honestly didnt think she would have a problem, nobody did. We have all been trying to get her to shoot a full auto.

I mean she is a great shooter. She tried to join the army last year and was 12 pounds underweight to meet the requirements. And as much as she has tried, she cant gain the weight.

I'm glad in a later post you gave her props for her abilities. I was hoping you weren't making fun of the girl shooter. When I read this quoted post I laughed out loud!!

Maybe I ought to get me a gun permit and a gun and visit a gun range. I hate the loud noises there, though, have weak arms and wrists, and I also hate cleaning a gun.

Hm, are there very attractive petites at bow and arrow ranges?

Yes, yes there are. You can thank that 'Hunger Games' movie for that one. Last time I was at this private range near me (pistol/rifle/archery-all indoor) I saw a carload of college girls show up for lessons. Either that or the instructor, he was a good-looking kid. Yeah, I'm turning into a grumpy old man sometimes.

For once i am glad someone quoted a person on ignore.

The owners of the indoor range here also own an outdoor range outside the city limits. The have set up two combat ranges, one of shooters and one for archers.

Anyone that thinks a bow is useless in a combat situation needs to see some of these archers work.

Agreed. I was watching through the window the other day, and some of them folks can load, draw, and release with scary speed. And considering the downright evil kinds of heads on the market, I think I'd rather stop a hunk of lead before one of those things.

When I was in high school, the gym class decided to have archery classes. I hit the bull-eye every time. Not my fault my parents were competitive archers and always let me play with the bows.
